Yeah that was a different time for sure and Eddy is doing a pretty good job there on a bike 30 lbs heavier then a modern RTL/4RT...the latter which itself is starting to get criticised for being a bit of a lump. Of course, that's a lump that has just won 4 consecutive World Trials Championships with Bou!

Made by a friend of mine in France... he spent a day with World Champ Toni Bou and put this together....

    http://www.photobysergio.fr/video-toni-bou-piera.html

... you can see why i have been saying for years that anyone who wants to really do well at modern trials should get themselves a cycle trials bike. The techniques can be applied directly to the moto stuff.. as Toni demonstrates here.

Don't know what to say. Except now I'm a bit bummed to have given my neighbor's son my P200E.

You're right, that was pretty cool!

As useful as those hand guards are for protecting levers, I`d seriously think about removing them for Trials riding.. It only takes one trip over the handlebars to break both your wrists.. :yikes

I've heard of this problem. Motocrossers speak of it. The only trouble is, they've not only saved my levers many times, but for the amount of time I hit trees, I've saved myself from broken fingers, and inadvertently hitting clutch and/or brake, and thereby outofcontrol probably a hundred times already. :eek1 So what do you do? pick your poison.

You know, over the years and involvement in MX, desert racing, enduros, street riding, and trials I have never ever heard of anybody getting injured by handguards. Not saying it can't happen, but I've never heard of it. On the other hand, they've saved me lots of pain from big bugs, cactus, trees, and rocks when I've gotten a little off line (rare but it happens :rofl) or got caught in someone's roost and they've saved me from fives and crashes in trials.

And I bet Steve Rapp wished he'd had them going into T1 at Road A a few years ago. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5391944395906954225#
