So what do we do about it? Clearly this is going to continue...how could one guard against some whacko 500+ yards away with high powered assault weapons for mass killings...
I know its a fine line..but fully automatic weapons should be banned..of course theres millions of them already out there wwe csnt do anything about..
This is not the world we want our children to inherit..such a travesty

Well, it's NOT a full auto rifle. It's a semi-auto with an attachment that makes it fire very rapidly. My guess is that the bump stocks will be outlawed pretty quickly. From what I understand, they're pretty useless for anything in the real world anyway.

The much bigger problem, from where I sit, is the massive over-prescribing of drugs that fuck with your brain. It starts in grade school. Virtually every single mass murderer in recent history has been on some sort of brain chemistry altering drug. Big pharma is going to fight VERY hard to keep from losing Xanax and whatnot.

Sure you could, especially if it benefited you financially to do so. Say, if you were a member of the psychiatric industry. Or worked for the drug industry. And in these cases, you'd want to do everything possible to get people riled up at guns. You didn't hear about a lot of shit like this before the time when ADHD was invented, did you?

Really should have at least glanced at the weather forecast before heading out. Started raining about when I crossed Falls on 440. Figured it would let up. Figured wrong. Kept coming down harder and harder until the exact minute I pulled off at 40/42 to put on rain gear. Of course, there really wasn't much point by then, but what the hell. Mild drizzle from then on out to the tag and all the way back home. First good rain ride in a while. Glad I got fresh meat on the bike. Tires were perfect at 80 or so on I-40 and everything else. New tires are the best. Almost as good as bacon.

We did better North West of here. A couple very heavy showers but mostly just hot and humid. Found some good back roads to get from east of Pittsboro to near Burlington.

Honestly, I wasn't even thinking about rain when I headed out. Figured it was just going to be cloudy all day. Probably just as well. Likely wouldn't have chosen to do a 60 mile downpour tag run had I known. :D

Been just sort of drizzly on occasion here. Enough to be annoying.

Rode the MTB almost 3 hours yesterday at Chapel Hill north trails just off 86 and it only lightly drizzled at the very end of the ride. Spent most of the time feeling like I was pedaling through a rainforest.... :raindance

It has been pretty humid for a couple days. This time of year seems to be pretty hit or miss. I can recall State Fair days in the 30s and days like this.

I also remember the state fair at crazy relative humidity and temps close to 90... NC is insane for weather this time of year!

I still love the red frame on that special edition... although, I think it would be awesome with a white tank and trim, then throw some blue in there for a nice 'Murcia theme... haha!

Anybody going to the fair or not going to the fair? I always check out the forestry stuff, the antique tractors on that side of the fair... and all the 4H displays... such cool stuff... clothing, art, canned food, quilts.... town of wake forest has their moto unit there with the police bikes... :) I just need to find a slower day and get there early!

Best time in line there was some woman arguing that she deserved a penny back because it was 99cent movies and she gave a dollar... and they literally ran out of pennies. I offered to give her a penny and she said "no, it's the principle". What, the principle of pissing the other 50 of us off? For the next 10 minutes? Making us all late for the film? Other than that, saw a few good flicks there when they were a regular theater...

Does anyone around the Triangle rent bikes? Ray Price used to but currently their website isn't conclusive. Says they have no rental fleet.
