that's awesome! I had an atv trip with my grandfather that I still cherish to this day, he didn't live nearly as long as your Grandfather did so you are a lucky man to get to do the trip at that age! I kept thinking this was going to be a story of you taking him on a 2 up ride!

Update... The VFRs are sold. I sold mine Monday two weeks ago and he sold his the following Friday. I picked up a 2007 dl650 and he got a 2011 fz6r. We are both happy and have started planning our spring trip. Pics forthcoming.

After reading this I now know what I want to be when I grow up---an 80 year old grandfather who rides a crotch-rocket for fun.
Great story. I'm impressed and hope I can still ride when I'm 80.

Well round two is on the horizon. This year will be a little different with my second dad coming along. He finally got back into the bike world with a purchase of a wee strom. So it will be two Dl650s and a FZ6. We are hoping to be wheels down at the end of August!! :clap We just need this dang rain to go away. Grandfather will do a lot of things but getting his bike dirty is not one of them :D
