My spouse has been in school, medical, for the past 24 months. Her Triumph, a 900 Legend, has been the queen of the lift for the last two years. No joy, she just would not run. When she did, the throttle would not retard on downshift.

So she sat... Over the last few weeks, I have slowly, methodically, taken off parts to get to the parts that matter on her Triumph. Today, for the first time in two years, the Triumph Legend ran.

I drained the carbs. I noticed the air "tube" leading from the air box was disconnected. I re-connected it. Poof. She started, ran, and idled just as she should.

Just to make sure I suited up and took her out and did a 20 mile loop run around Asheville at 70-80 mph. Home in the garage, she fell to an easy idle.

Now Das Beast is up on the lift. Looks like the throttle is knackered. Easy fix. Nice to have the lift to myself again!

Yes, exactly how I felt..."...it's alive, Alive, ALIVE I TELL YOU... ahahahahhahahahahha" Crank up the Young Frankenstein Vibe :)

Das beast looks like the willing next victim.

I am not the smartest rider in the world, but I can keep my fleet up and and running, thankfully.

Are you gonna suprise her with a visit on the Triumph now? Must be good for her as well to see it up & running again.

She was mowing the grass (probably for the last time this year) when it finally started.

I came out doing my little happy dance, much to her chagrin and "you sure look silly" but my take is "who cares?" I got that old bitch running again!

Rain, lots of it, the next three days. In 300,000 miles, I have ridden in lots of rain. I have a choice not to, and my Audi TT will suffice in the interim.

But come next weekend... sunshine, and I will be off.
