my 2010 street triple was also recalled for this.
I have to remember to go check when that recall went out. If it was before May I'm going to a) have a bit of a chat with a local dealer b) add yet another dealer to go fuck yourself list.
I got the letter about three weeks ago.
Does anyone know if the Arrow 2 into 1 pipe for the Scrambler can be put on a Bonneville SE?
Bike looks awesome. nice job done
This guy did it with stock scram exhaust on an '02 T100...They will bolt to the cylinder head but you may need to swap some parts with a scram and possibly fab some stuff to mount it solid and have good clearance. Judging from the pic, it looks like he used a scram rear master cylinder and possibly air filter side cover. I would see if you could source complete scram exhaust mounting hardware off ebay or the like. Modding is half the fun, I say do it, you'll have something unique and post pics when done!
I've been reading through this thread and enjoying the pics for two days now...I have been a die hard Triumph fanatic since going from my '00 SV650 to my '06 Sprint ST back in '09. I love all bikes but have no desire to own anything other than Triumph for now. Here are my pride and joys:
'06 Sprint ST, best pic I have of her right now...she is currently on a ship in the middle of the Atlantic. Heading back to meet me in NJ after accompanying me on my overseas tour in the Azores islands. I should have her back home in a couple weeks, and then I have to strip her down to clean off all the cow crap (brown ice) and ocean salt corrosion from being on the island for 3 yrs.
And I've been lusting over a Scrambler for a couple years now, so, while I was patiently waiting for my Sprint, the evil Triumph showroom floor got the best of me and I just brought this home 2 weeks ago. '13 Matte Graphite Scrambler, I love this thing and will never part with either one of 'em!
CNDRAT...Luv's Triumph Very nice Triumph Site...well done
Here is my 08 ST.
And my new Tiger last week. Love those triple motors!
I am thinking about adding a Sprint GT to my flock. ( 2011 Multistrada, F800GS) because I love the triple motor and it seems like they are practically giving them away here in the US where they did not sell and are no longer being offered. There are a few new ( 2011's so not so new) out there for 10-11k. Seems like a lot of bike for that money. Question is why didn't they sell here and are there any big issues that I should be aware of. I am thinking of getting this bike as a stop gap until the new Trophy gets sorted out and more affordable.
They did not sell because most did not know about them. The Sport Touring Market is only about 1% of the bikes sold in the USA. They are GREAT bikes. Buy with confidence and have fun.
Just delivered this 2013 Street Triple R
Now that is a beautiful bike .. congrats !! I love the new exhaust treatment..
Lovely bike ... I'm still grinning from a test ride on the Street Triple. I think there's room for one in the garage ... next to the Sprint
One off swinger I assume? That is pretty hot.
....and what is this bakes on a flattracker crap? I thought they didn't run any?
Eitherway that should give the Harleys a nice run for their money.
Playing around a little to see what works best.
Need a way to stop them in the pits.
That's what we are counting on. Joe Kopp leading the team with Johnny Lewis riding. "Johnny Lewis" heck, he even sounds fast.
This '95 Thunderbird was donated to the museum where I work a couple of years ago. Owner bought it new. Running issues developed, apparently scaring him pretty good during a ride. That's all I know.
The bike would start with starting fluid, but it was very rough. Only ran on the right cylinder consistently, the middle one occasionally, and the left one not at all. The airbox was rough and leaky, so we bought a new one. Carbs were funky, so I took them apart and cleaned them. Installed new o-rings under the floats. Blew out the passages for the idle circuit. Soaked the jets in carb cleaner.
Now the bike runs on all three. But only when you're revving it. It will not idle, and it will still only start with starting fluid. It will not start on gasoline from the tank, and the moment you stop revving it, it dies.
I've tried to register on TriumphRat.net, but cannot for some reason. Can't even contact an administrator. So does anybody here have any suggestions?
Try cleaning the carbs again. Make sure the pilot jets are clean .
Check and clean the enriching circuits for starting and be sure to
check the emulsion tubes above the main jet as they are often
overlooked during a carb clean. Also check for air leaks at the intake
Hope this helps.
^As Nick says - also I presume these carbs have the small holes in the top of the venturi near the throttle blades - these can be plugged - clean all these little holes with a guitar string, plenty of carb cleaner and compressed air, making sure that they are clear. That looks like a neat bike! The green is my favorite.
