I did a few miles this weekend and I'm comfortable up to 130-140km/h, plus I rarely ever go above 120 except to pass so I won't bother with a shield, sorry.

Man, you can't ride in nice weather in Oregon without a visor full of bug smears unless you have something to direct the wind away from your helmet. I had to clean the windscreen on my Yamaha every other day last Summer. No idea how the Harley guys do it out here, but more power to 'em, and you too, Bross!

Actually I was wondering about the windscreen myself. I am planning on getting a Givi windscreen but wonder if it will be enough for a long ride.

    Anyone?

You put up with the overheads of having a great looking bike and then you want to stick an ugly perspex genoa on it that will make it noisy and buffet your head - ei eie ie !

    You did say 'anyone' ;-P

    In a word......yes.
In a few extra words....well, I am trying to find the smallest screen that will do the job. I had a big ol' Granpa windscreen on my Yamaha, and it was too hard to ignore or appreciate the relatively low noise, bug-spooge-less riding it made possible.

If you'd quit hanging around feed lots and/or rendering plants and get out of the meat packing district you wouldn't have such a bug problem. Just sayin. :D

Seiously, most guys in the Triumph Rat use Givi screens to cut the wind to the torso. Not much help for the face shield though.

Much nutrition can be found in bug guts.
Screens just deny you a good feed while pootling along:dg

Hey, hey, what can I say? My search for the best head-cheese in Portland keeps me in that area all hours of the day.

Yeah, its hard to find a short windscreen that directs the wind above chin level. I will check out the Givi. MSR (?) is reported to have good options as well.

    $158 apparently

The amount my local Triumph dealership wants for a new right side riders foot peg

At teh moment I need it by the weekend and they have one, so the price is "right"........

Will have to wait to get my sump plate and engine guards and ventura rack and back rest and........a little longer

For poking and posing around Kiwiland you probably don't need a screen.

Ive done a couple of 1000Km days and inter state trips and I like a screen.

I commute on mine in -7C Canberra and I need a screen

    Im soft obviously.

I dont think it spoils the looks too much, these are practical bikes, workhorses, set them up how you like. :pope

Hmmm, probably better to move from Canberra, AND then no need to spoil the Scrambler looks with a screen

    That way its win win!

You forget where I'm from! I rode my tbird over most of NSW and a lot of SEQ and Vic.

    real men don't need windscreens.

Heres my Scrambler w/ the nat'l cycle flyscreen, it deflects some wind and keeps the speedo clean, cheaper than the givi,[IMG]
