I'll miss the bug eyes, but better lamps are a good thing IMHO

So, why would a styled, irregular shaped headlight housing be assumed better then a round one?

It's not about the shape of the housing, it's about the reflector design. To that end it may or may not be better. The headlights on my Gold Wing certainly aren't round, and they are probably the best headlights I've seen in motorcycling.

I hope they aren't anything like my 1050 Tiger, worst headlights of any motorcycle I've owned including dirtbikes.Absolutely worthless on a twisty road at nite.

let's hope they are nothing like the Tiger/Sprint ST projector beams, which are abysmal on a twisty road at night (as mentioned above).

The lights on my 08 Speedy are pretty good already. Add to the fact they use Std size lights that can be easily upgraded to Cibie's etc and you have a pretty good lighting system.

I'd MUCH rather be riding that vs my R12GS after dark.

Must be better than my '07- they suck :puke1

Like the wheels though. Definitely an improvement.

I hope it is better looking than the current bike...everyone here loves them, but I think the Street and Speed triples are some of the ugliest bikes on the road. Some of my favorite, but ugly.

I wonder about the future about the Street Triple - is it going to get the 800cc engine? Will the road going Tiger cannabilize too many sales to make both bikes viable.

    AND

We know there is a 1200cc mill in the works. But at the same time, both the Sprint and the Speed get upgraded for 2011 without getting the 1200. Why? They're both bikes that could easily be sold with a 1200cc engine and still fit their image/purpose/demographics...I wonder if the 1200 will be designed to fit into these bikes with minimal changes, making 2012 the year to buy.

I have heard that the motor is still 1050 - in a higher state of tune. The 1200 won't be seen for some time.

Sort've like how they rolled out their second gen bikes (fuel injected Speed Triple, Tiger, etc.) with FI 885cc triple before throwing the 955i in a couple years later.

MCN are saying it's not much heavier than the Street Triple.
