I'd suggest if you scoot past DF you do it on the Eastern side and make a stop at Sir Edward James garden of eden at Los Pozas. Worth a stop if you haven't looked it up already.

Located just outside the nice town of Xilitila, North and just a little East of DF.

We've been following your travels to date, but where are the chairs???
I can't believe its all come round so quickly. It all makes for entertaining reading.... I hope you guys are managing to keep up with all the technology without it taking over, like stupid mobile phones!
Looking forward to sharing your adventures whilst hibernating in Dorset. Ride safe guys. Jif & Jim

Anxious to report today's ride. We just checked in to our motel. We are in Janos, Chi-hu-ha. We're having connectivity problems in the room. I'm in the office and don't care to spend the night in here!:eek1

I'll walk this laptop back to our room and see if it stays connected.

    Hang in there with us.....

Our posts will typically be late.:D

You are in a gas station and filling up the tank of your car. No one comes up to you and says, "Hey, nice car! Where are you going?"

Alternatively, you are in the gas station filling up the tank of your motorcycle and always, at least one person will approach you and say, "Hey, nice bike!
Where are you going?" :Where have you come from?" "What size is that engine? How many cylinders?, etc.

This has been happening the past two days at every gas stop, rest area, store, as it always does when we travel on our motorcycles.

The difference this time? When I've been asked where are we headed I get to say ARGENTINA!!!! And then, there is their reaction! :lol3
    Great stuff!

    Finally in Mexico!
Got our TVIP's in Agua Prieta, RIGHT at the border, I mean right there on your right as you get in. Choice parking spot too.
Took about half hour I suppose or less.
Then went to change some money to Pesos. About 12.5 to a dollar.
We decided to leave the border town and head south/east towards our route.
Should have paid more attention to the distance. We didn't get to the next Hotel until 7pm! Nice ride though. Went over 6333 feet altitude, great mountain pass and it was still light. As we descended to the floor it got dark so we just slogged on, the road is virtually straight in that part.

The DR's did great, we did use fourth and even third gear in the mountains.

Just toodled along enjoying the never ending curves up to the summit. At the summit it was starting to get bloody cold! We stopped and put our heated vests on and winter gloves, then it was just great. All warm and snug just rolling along in the dusk, one of the best feelings ever.

Our budget was shattered today. What with the $400 each bike TVIP depo, the TVIP charge and I had to go to Walmart in Benson AZ and buy some underwear, somehow mine didn't make it in my bag, and I was SO careful!

Good news we got a $28 room that is rather nice and had a $15.12 meal for two with tip.

Now just uploading the pics to smugmug, may be a while :deal

I've been on that route a few times, usually running out of gas on a dirt bike. It really is beautiful, hugging the border where there is nothing on the US side.
    Buen Viaje! Jim

This is Miller Adams. We met him at a Walmart in Benson. Interesting chap. He said he just HAD to come over and tell us he liked our style!
A sailor, an Adobe builder, a man with wanderlust. Very nice chap indeed, well read and informed. He offerd a place for us on his 14 acre spread but we wanted to move on in to Mexico.
Hopefully he'll take a look at this.

A traveler himself, he had some good tips for down south. This guy was probably the most interesting thing about Benson AZ. Oh and you can see my pack of underwear in the previous picture.

SO, this is what we live for, exotic places with sunshine and good roads to ride:

Piece of cake. Parking is on the right as you enter Agua Prieta and the office is ten steps away!

Just scored THOUSANDS of pesos, I'm really rich:

See that green arrow, you sneak over there on your bike, you don't wait in line, you go to the front, easiest is on the right side. Then you just see the big sign in blue and pull over to the right. Nice lot of chaps there with dogs and guns, you'll like it. They'll ask you if you have any fruit, I suppose if you do they will shoot the shit out of it and then the dogs will eat it. It's VERY dangerous I guess if you carry fruit, don't do it, it's not worth your life.

Morning tea in the room, a must for every Englishman to start his day. Colleen made herself a cup of coffee and loved it. You know how the simple stuff tastes so good sometimes?
