It's closed now. Not sure when it's open. Check with Coranado NF website before your trip.

Mt. Lemon got dumped on the last two days.
But it will get up to the high 80's this week so the snow should be melting fast.
I'm in Catalina and ride around to that side of the mountain a few times a week,
I'll post on here when it's open to DS bikes.

    I need a shop recommendation.

I have a friend who had a GSXR stolen. The police recovered it, but it's a bit jacked up. The thieves punched out the ignition, broke the fork lock with a pry bar or something similar, and in the process busted the top triple (where the ignition attaches) broke a tab/bracket off the radiator, and did some other damage.

My buddy is trying to figure out if he can fix the ignition as is or if he needs a new top triple. He also installed the new ignition and found out that the the gauges don't work.

He has a thousand dollar deductible, and he is trying to DIY as much as possible, but needs someone to take a look at the triple and the gauges. Any recommendation on a shop thats good with electrics?

A good place to start is at the Desert Daze meet over in Dragoon this weekend.

See the "DualSportDesertDaze 2013 - March 14-17" thread on this forum.

I look forward to meeting you.

What year is it? Does it run with the new ignition other than the instruments not working? As far as local shops he might try stopping by Evan Steel Performance and talking to those guys as they might be familiar with running new or no ignition on the GSXR and communications with ECU.etc... depending on how new it is. Also, tell your friend to post his questions in the gixxer forum. Those fuckers must have been down this road before.

Or, if its a 600 or 750 and 2008 or newer he could sell it to me super cheap as is and I can make it my new track bike.

I'll have him check them out. It's a relatively new bike, I think its an '08 or '09. He installed the new ignition and found the broken part on the triple. With the new ignition installed he said the bike runs, but the gauges don't work, except the high beam indicator. I told him to trace the wiring back from the gauges to see if they got broken or split when then stole the bike, because then he might just be able to splice them back together and get it working again. But he may need the shop anyway to get a broken bolt out of the radiator.

    Thanks for the help!

I rode up from Oracle today to the gate at the top of the F.S. road.
No issues a few muddy spots.
The gate at the top was locked, but I think you could ride around it
    if so motivated.

    Twist it, Max

    Allyn and Cathy,

I finally found the video that I thought of while you two were warming up your bikes on the last ride. You two-stroke hooligans...
