Nice ride. Anyone else notice it's starting to feel like not summer? Got a ride in yesterday and couldn't believe how fresh the air is!

I have to agree there. My daughter is in Missoula. At one point they had ash falling in town.

Taking tomorrow off from work and spending the day riding. Was thinking about heading north up Willow springs Rd, to Florence-Kelvin hwy then either maybe take the AZBDR track to Globe and take 77 back to town or head to Mammoth and then up/ over Lemmon. Or may ride to Mt. Graham. Or??? Anyone interested in meeting up let me know. Probably can't leave my house until about 8.

Sounds nice. What are you riding again? Got my 441 worked in, but I'll have to torque some bolts and check things over before a longer ride is in order.

It was crisp last night! The pool is no longer warm,

    If I choose a ride with dirt I'll be riding a 250L.

The end of the DGR at Barrio. Nothing too interesting, but good beer... :photog

Excellent. I would have been scrambling to be ready for it, and that doesn't always lead to good decisions.

My bride and I went on a ride to Bisbee for breakfast with @MaddBaggins today.... lots of fun and great company. Stopped in at Tombstone Brewing Company for a libation and to get a growler filled up. Good times.

    :super

Lots of softcore piggy riders out there though..... but it is some really sweet entertainment! :lol3

Any of you 'mates know a good stereo guy who makes house calls? Can't get my turntable sounding right? It worked fine in MT, but here...no worky. Took it to the "Stereo Hosp." on Speedway and they said it worked fine with their speakers.

Are there other sources hooked up to the system that sound the way they should?

Yep. Lot's static from the turntable. Everything else sounds fine. It doesn't matter if I run it thru the receiver or hook it directly to the speakers. (powered Klipsch units) I switch it to line in (which was how I thought I had it in MT)...no sound. I switch it to phono and it cracks and pops. Ground wire is hooked up and it sits on a rubber mat.
    Thanks for help

In case you missed it, some changes coming our way...

    Hey everyone,

During the 13.5 years I worked for the photo sharing site SmugMug.com, they were kind enough to let ADVrider's servers reside in their data centers. Their wonderful technical people kept the servers running.

Two years ago the entrepreneurial bug bit me again and I started a new company. SmugMug was gracious and kept ADVrider running, but when I left them we lost the ability to do software upgrades.

For ADVrider's entire 15-year life, with your donations and SmugMug picking up the slack, we've been able to run sponsorship and ad-free. In looking for a new home for ADVrider, I had to solve our need for technical help and cover our operating costs.

Enter David and Kevin. David and I have come to know each other pretty well and we've built a lot of mutual respect. Kevin has been David's right arm for technical support for many years.

So in a few weeks we plan a couple days of downtime while we pull ADV out of SmugMug and onto a new set of Amazon servers in the sky. And then it's between all of us + David and Kevin to make this work. The reality is we will need to slowly accept good sponsorships and advertisers, a first for us. Hopefully that will mean the likes of BMW and not get-your-viagra-online vendors.

David and Kevin have been receiving warm welcomes from the mods over the last little while. The mods are already asking for a few things like https. They seem to be optimistic and supportive and understand the job at hand.

On November 2nd, David and I are flying to Vegas for the Pahrump rally. I get to rent an Africa Twin! First time on one of those but what is this talk about auto shifting?! Blasphemy. :fpalm

    All the best,
    Baldy

    @guns&coffee

Does the turntable have a pre-amp (I'm guessing it doesn't, or it's switched off considering you got zero audio from the line in input)? Also, see if anything changes if you remove the ground. Sounds like you're picking up interference from something...

Good point on the ground. I work with an AV setup that spans a large property. We have a dedicated circuit for everything related to the mixing board, amps, etc, but if someone plugs in a component connected to it anywhere on the property without lifting the ground, I'll get a mystery buzz somewhere else in the system.
