I was on my G650X Challenge and he was on his DR650. I'm thinking I would have been quite beat up if I had taken my 1200GS. The 650X handled it like a champ. 160 miles total with about 110 off pavement.

Got an extra, new Motoz Tractionator Desert HT. 140/80 18. Manufacture date 3917. Would be good for all you 650 riding folk. PM me if you're interested.[IMG]

Tractionator is a great tire. I used one last year riding 1600mi of Baja. Had very little wear showing. Rode a KTM 350. On a bigger bike, more HP it may worn a little more. Due to the stiff compound it was a bear to get on.

    Looks like an excellent day.

    Tracks? Crayon on map? Please.

Routes in SoAZ that don't end at locked gates are a challenge to find (at least for me).

    Thanks,
    dod

Haven't been through the santa Rita's or Patagonia area in about a year now I think, and it's my backyard. Don't recall a single gate being locked (except for all the gun site pass bs)... are gates getting locked now?

Any chance of posting the map? My old laptop (and I) are incapable of seeing it.

Flux Canyon got closed off and guards posted, IIRC.

    very cool,
Just moved to Tucson myself, looking for good rides this time of year. I rock a Drz400. wondering if you have a route for this or any other rides down here?

Yeah. Flux Canyon road, heads south from 83 west of Patagonia. Very beautiful, some fun climbs. It connects through to Harshaw I think, but there's a short section that someone decided they didn't want people using so they gated it and posted guards.
