It was, thanks. I figured we could all use a break from the rain here today and the stormy/devastation news reports of down south for a bit.

IMG_0199.JPG IMG_0201.JPG Advrichs' report about says it all! Gotta love our ADK's but you also have to enjoy having the Green and White Ranges within a days ride to our east! A motorcyclists triple play of mountain joy! IMG_0218.JPG The couloir known as Tuckermans Ravine at elevation from parking area. Not for the faint of heart as lives are lost in this gorge. My local shop service manager says he skis this in the springtime! ......I'll stick with motorcycles, thank you very much!
Didn't ride any dirt or gravel on this ride save for a short section on the Mt Washington toll road as Rich was rolling on street tread with no bash plate yet. Didn't matter as there was plenty of rural secondary roads with great panoramas!A return trip during peak leaf season is penciled in for me with a good mix of dirt and gravel!

Nothing epic today. Stayed off the grid to avoid traffic and rode some seasonals on worn street tires. On Operose's advise I took Lead Mine Rd . :thumb And a few other unknown gravel / dirt roads. Rode with a group of UTV riders for a bit, wish I would have taken a photo. They thought I was lost! :lol3

My hi light of the day was saving a painted turtle from getting hit by a car on a busy road. Of course some guy got pissed cause I slowed him down so I could get mr turtle before he ran it over. That is why I prefer animals over humans.:nod

I took my buddy that broke his neck last year out for his inaugural post injury ride. No hero stuff and started off easy on the state highways. Some sun, some clouds, some hills and curves and a few sprinkles...on the visor....no ice cream. No complaints from his neck.
Bring on the snow for sledding.....in a couple more months.

Glad car show is over. A lot more problems seem to roll in with the car crowd vs myc crowd.

Of course I could be a bit biased.

Went down and helped out w 90miler on Friday, cold and wet but what a great time. Trying to sucker somebody into joining me for a tandem ride next year in bright yellow 80s racing canoe... Everybody had the same boats! It was like a freakin adv rally:imaposerFor real though there were some nice guide boats doing well and a couple sweet wooden kayaks at least

Anyone here ride a Honda Rebel 250 much? I have been eyeballing an '07 w/ only 4k miles on it for just over a grand and may go look at it and pull the trigger.

I am not a high speed guy, speed limit plus a few is plenty for me. I have ridden dual sports mostly but after selling my KLR, and only having a Kymco 125 in my shed has me wanting a small cruiser. Something about bombing down back roads in a small flat black cruiser-ish bike has me enticed. Its a bomb proof engine with adjustable valves so routine maintenance easy. I enjoy small bikes, and I figure it would make a good commuter. I know I am trying to justify it to myself... Talk me out of it?

Part of me is thinking, grab it, fun project. Another part is wondering if it will be to small (seating position wise) and/or I will get sick of it quick.

My wife doesn't think I should bother... decisions decisions. She says I should be happy with what I have...

3 hour drive to go look at it, if I drive out to nowhere VT I will most likely be buying...

There are days I miss my 600 Shadow from the late 90's. But if I had to pull the trigger on a purchase right now it would be on a 300-500cc street legal dirt scrambler. The single tracks are calling my name.
