300-500cc dirty bike? There is a yeller DRZ in Tupper, $2300 on the sign no clue on condition but been there a while. Few houses up on the other side of the road is a DR650 for sale. Must be they are running the DS crowd out of town :)

Zepphead those are nice pics, just found Buttermilk Falls over towards Forked this summer and had lunch there a few times.

Gotta admit today was first day riding in a while but covered a lot of ground(paved) and had a lot of fun! Up to Alex bay, then down to Cranberry and beyond. Rt58 btw Pope Mills and Gouvy gets a little twist to it but park for a few min so there is no traffic ahead...

Love to see everybody's pictures, it sure is a huge area we cover so thanks for sharing.

We were through that area but turned off before the sweepers since I like the smaller roads with tighter corners Brassie Corners to Rossie, Oxbow to Theresa, Bishop Rd, West Lake Road, River Rd in .......

I was up there a couple weekend ago specifically to buff the sides of my tires. It's about as good as it gets locally.

I'm 6'1" and I've ridden my mother's rebel before. I felt like I was sitting at a kindergarten desk. My hands were only a few inches above my knees. Slow speed turns where you extent your inside leg I felt like I was going to run my foot over with the front tire. IMO they lack the power to be safe when pulling out into 55mph traffic. Do yourself a favor and don't buy it. If your really want one that size look for a rebel 500. They only made them for a few years in the mid 80's but can be found in great shape for the same price as the newer 250's.

I am 5'7 200# The power issue doesn't bother me, I mostly ride small CC bikes. My Kymco 125 can only do 40~45mph up steep hills.
My Ruckus only does 30 up hills and I put over 2k miles on it this year! :dllama:

The simple technology/ ease of maintenance/ low cost longevity really appeals to me.

I pulled the trigger. I ended up picking up the 2007 Honda rebel 250 with just shy of 5K on the OD for $1100. I was very surprised to find such a nice used, low millage bike, but being the end of the season now is the time to buy. It does need a touch of TLC to bring it up to my standards but its in great shape for what I paid. I took it for a quick 10 mile blast when I got home and I fit very comfortably on it. I do need to turn the bars up a bit but other then that if find it comfortable. I will probably throw a fresh chain and set of sprockets on it over the winter... New tires in the spring. I just need to decide if I clean it up as is, or pull it apart and paint it flat black, or a flat red color.

One nice thing about these small bikes, well pretty much any bike, but as long as its it good running/ riding condition it will always be work 1K.

As far as power goes I actually think it pulls pretty well up to 55mph. Obviously as a low geared 250 twin its not going to have much above 65 but that's fine, I prefer the speed limit. It has plenty for what I need, and helps my lack of self control.

With all that said I had to travel to east bumfuck VT to get it... Came back through Hazen's Notch, over to the top end of Champlain then back down 87, stopping by Essex County DMV to get a plate. Any ways Hazen's Notch is a pretty neat road, well worth the ride over it if you like dirt roads.

So...what's up with this weather? This is not right. I think we're gonna pay dearly for this.

    Its summerfall.

While we might get hit hard, winters don't seem to be lasting nearly as long as they used to. Almost seems like the seasons are shifting and changing.

Almost to the end of Pharoah Lake Rd. that's normally wet and muddy that's now dry save for a beaver flow at the far end.

Probably. I'm pretty sure my pimento red Steamer is probably the only one you'll ever see.
I mentioned Woodhull because the Adirondack tag is there.
I may do a ride Wednesday.
Anyone want to do lunch somewhere?

Sorry, getting ready for a cross country trip in the car. Thought I'd have all the chores finished, but no such luck.
Have a great ride if you go
