We at tumbleweed have been working hard for the past year to create at back country touring adventure bike out of the KTM 690 R. We now have a product that carries an extra two gallons of fuel, one gallon of water, and has attachment points for various types of soft luggage. Specifically we used the Giant Loop, Great Basin as a model and incorporated a crisscross strap design on the Burro rack to securely locate the bag and allow for quick filling. Check it all out at.

Impressive work! I don't own a KTM (though I would like to), think you guys may one day venture into the BMW GS land with your tank systems?

The reaction has been very positive thus far, and the GS crowd is knocking at the door, more range is everyone's desire. And such a comfortable feeling to know you just need to turn a valve and not worry. We plan to expand our line, just don't when at this time.

The burrow top rack is .250" thick Aluminum, more than twice the gauge, and takes a 5 ton Press to even form the 15 degree angle to match the bike contour.

    If you can't guess...
It looks great, but don't try and tell me it's more secure than when I ratchet strap a gas tank onto the back seat... :rofl

Is that two gallons of fuel AND one gallon of water or OR? Thinking AND, but just wondering...
It wouldn't be recommended to switch between I'm sure, but could it be rigged to hold just gas, and gain a gallon? I'm guessing it wouldn't be easy, since you want to keep your water a good distance from your fuel... but.. ?

Looks like one side is a 2 gallon fuel tank. The other side is for a rotopax mount. So you could carry another gallon of fuel, or a gallon of water. They also make 2 gallon rotopax's.

install was quick and easy, have room to tie down pretty much unlimited luggage, and sure does get adv type riders all excited to go RIDE! transformed the 690 into the lightweight adventure bike it should be.
