I'm gonna screw up the spelling but Montepulciano, cinque terre,Voltera. There is a great lake region N/W of Verona. I think it was Bolzano we went into (speak German). We went up into the Dolomites.Cold but bearable.
I'll think of more when my navigator gets home. It is great!!!

We advoided Pisa. We were warned that it was too touristy. Lots of cruise ship come through there. We didn't go as far south as Rome either.
Believe me, there is plenty to do do in Tuscany. Rome is different.
After you spend time there, you'll learn that there WERE three different italian States.

    Sir,
You will find quite a few places discussed in my Riding in Tuscany-thread.
If you take the time to read it, you can not fail to notice that I try very hard to serve lunch or dinner to all ADVriders that pass through.
I advice you to send me a PM or email to see if we can arrange something.

The Leaning Tower in Pisa is the second most famous building in the world (after the Pyramids). There are good reasons why it is so famous. I think you will regret if you don't stop by.

Pisa, by the way, has no harbor and no ships stop by here.

Tagsek's strand is excellent reading. I studied it closely and he was kind enough to answer questions for me. Pisa is close to the coast. It was my understanding that there were a lot of tourists there too. There is a lot to be seen all over there. I incorporated many of his day rides in routes through areas.

Nice site. Brought back some memories. I did Passo di Centocroci late one night on a non stop ride from Barcelona to my aunts house on Borgo Taro. Tired, in the dark, just didn't appreciate it.
