Ok, I'll bite. So Prop and I were talking music 'round the Jucy Lucys. I told him I was converting some Vinyl to digital via a USB turntable. He mentions Tubular Bells, and I realize I have a copy of that I should work on. So I go through the stack and find it, slide out the sleeve and find Sonny & Brownies "Hootin and Hollerin", another one I was planning on converting, but where the hell is Mike Oldfield Hiding?, found exactly where he should be.

25.38, Album says 25.48, I think that speed is close enough

    "two slightly distorted guitars" :trp

    Me too.

Let me dream on that for a while.

Maybe I'll make one and bring it to the next meet and greet.

Now settling in for a fine evening of relaxation. Chores done, time to refresh with a beer or ten and some music.

    Turn it to 11 Prop!

If you didn't care what happened to me,
And I didn't care for you,
We would zig zag our way through the boredom and pain
Occasionally glancing up through the rain.
Wondering which of the buggars to blame
And watching for pigs on the wing.

Turning it to 11 Mr Gravy!

This is how to enjoy music!

Of course, that is merely my own opinion.

But you have to admit, I have a point. I'm not the first person to try this out.

I do need to get more subtle lighting in there. Also a bigger area rug, and other treble absorbers, like drapes and some other stuff. The cats have destroyed the blinds anyway, but drapes are better acoustically in any case.

    But, not a bad start.

Right now though, the Dark Side of the Moon beckons.

There is no Dark Side of the Moon really. As a matter of fact it's all dark.

The speakers are Mordaunt Short Carnival 8's. Not bad - I was going to go with Regas but these were easier on the wallet.

A dimmer would work if you're using incandescent lighting. Use bulbs with heavy filaments (rough service or 130v) and a quality dimmer or you'll get a lot of noise off them.

We (my stoner friends and I) used to go out to the Pink Floyd laser light show at the Minneapolis Planetarium quite often - great memories!

I like your dimmer idea. I was thinking of one or two floor standing lamps, just so that when I am sitting in the chair, I don't have lights directly above or in front of me.

Mmmmmm Pink Floyd and laser lights.

    That's the ticket!

That is too funny, that is one of the albums in my stack to be digitized

Bleating and Babbling we fell on his neck with a scream
Wave upon wave of demented avengers
marched cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream

I'm not a vinyl enthusiast by any account - is there an appeal to having vinyl in your collection if you already posses the digital version?

This is pretty much my entire record collection :rofl . I know it's mostly shit. What do you expect, I think I was 11 the last time I bought one. Anyway if there is anything in this paltry collection you're interested in it's yours. Let me know.
