Thanks @Cannonshot. I've been rereading some of your "big bike" trips lately for the Super Tenere perspective. :-)

Thank you @MBlue and @MotoRojo. I truly hope the report/pictures unlock some of the mystery of AK for those that are considering the trip!

@azdesertdad I totally get the appeal of Prudhoe to Key West, but if you have a fixed amount of time for the trip I'd focus it on Alaska. If you have 30 days you can do it w/o feeling rushed. Might consider having your dad fly in and rent a small suv for a few days if nothing else. I'm sure that would create some nice memories.

You're more than welcome to the pics.

    ---------------

Here's some irony... Ran across a smokin deal last week on a 2015 Tenere with 1300 miles and new Heidenaus. Six months too late.

    Bob,

I have read this report 2.5 times now. It is GREAT in all aspects. CharlestonADV and I did Ak 2016. I took 10% of the pics you did. I am an idiot. Anyway, I can attest that you did a fantastic job of representing some of the most spectacular real estate on this earth.
Thanks for the effort and the gift to the rest of us.

    Ben.

Thanks Ben. Every time this pops back up I go and read a couple pages - great to relive.

They're about to finish the road from Inuvik to Tuk and I've got the itch ... :-) ... Thinking I could pull that off in two weeks.

    Take 3. They are small.

I believe the Ak itch never leaves. I think about it nearly every day.

I am almost envious of those who experience " once is enough." This never worked for me in a number of areas, including matrimony.

    Good luck.

    Ben.

I'd like to add my thanks as well. We spend a month this summer and used your RR as a most excellent guide to plan our trip around.

For those who followed and are interested in traveling to the Arctic, the road from Inuvik to Tuk is now finished. Good info thread here. http://advrider.com/index.php?threads/road-to-tuk.1199999/

Agree 100% Ben. Prep is underway for a 2018 run to Tuk :-)
