Sweet! As a fellow WR owner with big dreams I look forward to reading this. Maybe at some point you can give a run down of what all you guys packed. Looks like you guys have a LOT of stuff.

I had to laugh when I saw this picture-------looks like your packing a dead body.

So imagine what people thought when we were hauling all the way across the country to Mexico. I can't believe we didn't get pulled over.

Those were Mikes (shower) slippers. All I can say is a big thanks to Adventure cycle in Fairbanks and his very handy pressure washer! For some reason all the buckles and straps started getting hard to operate. Calcium chloride I think. I'm really surprised you didn't get pulled over to, great pic

I too am very interested in this thread. The 250cc machines, both the Yamaha's and Honda's seem quite capable, not to mention affordable. What size are you guy's physically, height and weight? The Honda is $2000 less than the Yamaha, why did you choose the Yammie? It's obviously more dirt worthy but both are dirt road worthy?

To me the WR is a no brainer. The Honda is not nearly as good as the WR in any category. It's heavier, has unadjustable suspension, and a 1/3 of the power. Even though they are both 250cc, the honda puts out about 18 hp, while the Yamaha is closer to 25-26. It is a huge difference, and if you're going to be packing the bike down as much as these guys I'm sure the 30% power advantage helps tote yourself around a lot better. I have a video of my WR against the Honda if you're interested.

Not to derail the thread, but I'd be interested in seeing that. These two were on my list. I'm happy with my WR, and I chose it for the reasons you mentioned. Just curious is all.

Yamaha is pretty bullit proof. Three new sleds and 3 new bikes over the years, they just make stuff that runs. Badass boat motors too. My stock snow machine is an apex and people slap turbos on them, then watch out. I was gonna buy the Honda but I don't think I could have pulled this off. I'm kind off brand specific after my pops wheeled his (68) 175 enduro with me holding on for dear life as a child.

As a fellow 250 rider (tarmac) :lurk

What size duffle bags are those? Did you insert something at the bottom of the bag so it would keep its shape? (flat)

I can wait for the gear set up update.. :thumb
