    What "vacuum pump"?

If the theory is that fuel isn't getting to the carb because of a bad fuel valve or blocked vacuum line, then try a temporary gravity feed bypass to he carb, from an aux. tank if necessary.

If that works, then either the tank is empty, the valve is defective, or the vacuum line is plugged...

i was actually working on one of these at work not so long ago, that pump can be a pain, check your compression and check your oil tank, if its ran dry of oil its knackered, the one at work had a habit of filling the motor with oil if it was stood (the oil pump leaked through)
if its any help the engine is the same as an air cooled suzuki estilette or suzuki katana.
    hope my rambling helps

Check the fuel tank vent hose. If it is plugged it will not allow fuel to flow. Like when you hold your finger over the end of a drinking straw.

pulse pumps go bad. i have changed several. if you just stuck on the line nothing is going to happen, you need a vacuum pulse so suck, release, suck.... you get the idea. if it is good you will know. the most common two stroke issue i have had is the oil injection pump filling the carb with oil if you try to start the bike unsuccessfully a time or two. when this happens you have to take the carb apart and clean the excess oil out of it. if you replace your fuel pump and it still doesn't start try that.

fwiw i did have a Yamaha atv get a plugged vacuum line to the fuel pump that prevented the pump from running. it was a 4t though

the $5 pump is going to go bad faster than the $40 one, but you could replace it several times for the price. if the bike was bigger i would suggest an electric swap. not sure the 50 puts out enough power

Why don't you think it is getting fuel? If you sprayed starting fluid into the cylinder and it did not start that would lead me to think it is not a fuel issue. I may have read your post incorrectly!!!

I am not familiar with this engine. How does the timing work? If you have fuel, air, spark and compression it should run. Did you try a new spark plug. Is the old plug gapped correctly?

I am old and confused most of the time, so I may have missed something.

    Good luck

Just to recap for the OP (and please correct me if i'm wrong), he verified that he has fuel going INTO the pulse pump, but no fuel is coming OUT of the pulse pump. Therefore, he will be replacing the pulse pump. Update to follow.
