Hey all, this might be an old piece of information, but just came across a tool which allows you to map routes and save them through the google maps interface.

I don't know if anyone else has trouble with googlemaps crashing when you load too much data, but I do. This tool saves changes as you go and allows you to come back or edit routes that you have created.

The tool can also save the route to be imported into TomTom or Garmin GPS tools too!

Anyway, just thought I'd share with everyone, let me know your thoughts too: http://www.janboersma.nl/gett/index.php

I was talking with an inmate on the MT1000 and he tried to load the route to his TomTom using a piece of freeware - but his route was truncated.

When he told me what software he was using, it sounded vaguely familiar, but took me til today to remember and stumble back onto this thread. Not a lot of activity.

Anyone have any current feedback on this?

I have been messing around with the Tyre software and also had a big GPS file truncated when I imported it into a TomTom. After looking around in the Tyre help file I found that TomTom's allow a maximum of 48 waypoints in a route and that a Garmin will allow 1000. my route on the tomtom was cut off at 48. I am now looking into a Garmin:evil

Different units have different limits on waypoint, route point, and track point loads.
