i'm planning a trip next January so that means the whole northern hemisphere is out due to winter.
I'm thinking of either the UAE or Chile .
I'll be riding with my wife 2up so any ideas on these 2 countries as to

    1.safety
2.good bike rental places that will arrange accomandation etc (found prestige motorcyle tours in UAE so far)
3.The riding has to be tarmac only as i've got no off road experience
4.i'll have to fit as much as possible in a one week vacation

    Ideas please.
    Thanks

    Hi Griffin,
UAE is VERY VERY safe, I am sure you will like it, and the weather is very nice in Jan.
    Good luck

UAE will be a good chioce. Small enough to do in a week and if you do it really fast, move over the vborder to Oman, depending on your passport though. Plus renting bikes in UAE must be planned ahead as well. Not many places around (I think)

But good luck driving around with speeding SUVs and supercars hogging 2 lanes!

Hi Griffin I felt that after living in the UAE for the last 17 years I could give some feedback.
I don't do Off road either and having to share the road in the UAE with some of the worst drivers in the planet resulted in me shipping off my bike out of here, - forever -. Rescue and medical services can be either very good or non existent depending which Emirate you happen to be (there are seven). Be advised that lady luck owns your fate in the UAE, because you hold very limited legal rights as we know them and may be liable for everything, whether it was your fault or not.
    My suggestion? Do Chile.

i tend to agree with this.

Driving a nice solid car or truck in the middle east is crazy enough, a bike would just be stressful. South America or Australia would be a good time that time of year I would think.
