    Hey Vicks!

Welcome back from your vacation! Did you decide yet on the KTM or the Berg! Can't blame you for lusting over the blue and gold. That's a fantastic looking machine dressed in Ralleye kit!

Good luck to you and I'll be watching the forum to check your progress!

    Cheers,
    M.

    Hey there,

Yep, the deal is done on the bike. Its a rally prepped '10 530Exc. For once i listened to sane advise and bought a rally prepped machine instead of pouring money into a new bike and building it up into a Rally machine.

I've posted a few pics over on my thread.

    cheers

I'm looking for a lightweight adventure bike for my 'vertically challenged' wife, something she can ride to Oman/Mussandam/etc. I'm liking the Yamaha XT250, which should be OK if lowered. I think the F650GS will be too heavy on gravel/dirt.

I have been to the Yamaha dealers here in Abu Dhabi, and I'm not impressed. Would I have better luck in Dubai?

    Thanks!

A friend just picked up a 250 (suzuki i think) for a VERY good price. They are probably early 2000 models (un sold stock). I can check about more details from him if you are interested.

    cheers

We call the local dealer here in Dubai "Al Useless" (Al Yousef))...they also do Suzuki. Erratic supplies and zero service. Why not look at the Honda CRF250X? You can lower the bike by shortening the pro-link and chopping down the seat...

Do you mean the CRF250L? It's pretty tall. She ideally needs about a 775mm seat height. 250L seat height is 880mm, so that's about 4" that it needs to drop. Is that possible?

The Yamaha XT250 has an 810mm seat height as stock, so it only needs to drop an inch or so.

Yep, Abu Dhabi. Checking details currently. Will get back ASAP.

    cheers

    welcome !!!

do it man !! they are awesome bikes for dual sport riding but quite heavy for the dunes, if you are not going to do much off road riding with them, i'd suggest you consider a more tarmac friendly bike.

    cheers

OK i just got more info about the bike...

Its a Suzuki TS185 (2-smoke) and was bought for 8k+ at the Suzuki dealer in Musaffah. Brand new, Older model from un-sold stock. Apparently more available at the Suzuki dealer in Dubai.
seat height is supposed to be 800+ mm as per google.

No I did mean the CRF250X as it is delivered road-worthy. You can lower the whole bike by changing the suspension pro-link. It makes a great "mini" adventure bike...

    Hey mates,

does anyone here know Emirates Bike Tours near Dubai?
They are now renaming themselves as GasGas Adventure Tours.
I am planning to do a guided tour with them next year in March and am on the lookout for any references.
If anyone here knows these guys and can share experience about their services/products, please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Alaric11

I can't speak for them, but the guys over at 'Just Gas It' tours are top notch.

Any more info on where I can look at one of these? Is there a Suzuki dealer in Musaffah?

    Thanks again!
