    Howdo?

Name's Dave, living in Derby, and riding a 2009 Tenere. Bought two years ago with less than 3,000 miles on the clock, and now about to pass through 30,000. It's my daily commuter, touring bike, trail bike and BBRC race bike all rolled into one.

Been to the HUMM the last three years, 2009 on a borrowed DR-Z and then the last two years on the Tenere - photos above are from 2010 and 2011. Might be there this year if it happens, depending on dates, the original 'TBC' dates (that have now been removed from the website) clashed with a friend's wedding.

Made its racing debut at the Hafren last year:

Currently being prepared for a full year of racing with the BBRC in 2012, it's gained a set of WP48 forks which should help things along, but I need to rebuild them and sort out a few other niggles before the start of the season. It'll still be taking me to work, and on trips to France and the Lake District at least, hopefully a few more places this year as well.

    See you out there.

Planning 2012 trips to Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova, late April/early May, hopefully meeting up with FinlandThumper if he's up for it and anyone else whose around, Malaysia whilst there on business in June then Portugal and Morocco and maybe down to Mauritania in September. Might try and do the road version of the HUMM en route if that's a happening thing.

    Hi!

I am recently arrived in Cambridge and currently without a bike. Anyone in the area who has a garage/shop and likes to tinker please let me know. Hopefully I will have a bike by the spring!

Hello all. I'm a bit lacking in a suitable pic... But thought I'd say hi anyway.

Been lurking for a couple of years, off and on, and finally decided to join. I first found ADV looking for reviews on gortex gear, as I'm a bit ATGATT, and stumbled upon Lost Rider's mega tour thread when he bought some Rukka gear.

I'm not very "adventurery", as I mostly commute back and forth from south London to the city on a 125 scooter, but its inspiring reading the ride threads here, and maybe one day I'll go off the beaten track. Hope to see people at Ace Cafe sometime, or even outside the M25!

Aint that the truth. Had a cyclist crash into me the other day: i was going straight, and they pulled across going for a gap i was aiming at already. Kept it upright, and they just shrugged and kept on going... :eek1

Spotted someone with an ADV sticker on their helmet this morning (0845 or so) along the A2-ish area: Old Kent Road, up thru Great Dover Street and then i think they turned off at Pilgrimage or Silvester Street? Might have rejoined to go over London Bridge?

Not sure what bike they were on, i'm not good at models, but an off-roady type BWM / GS / thing with bars and pointy beak jobbie?

Anyways, hello from the little scooter behind you :wave
