I just went around looking for coolant capacity numbers and understand that the RC8 cooling system takes roughly 2.6ltr :huh and my 990 takes 2.1ltrs right ?. With that, i don't feel like throwing away 400+ $ anymore at 500ml more or coolant , so i'll stick to a second cooling fan i guess, or when i find a cheap one, i'm thinking of using a second adv/duke radiator to cut up (two radiators) and join them to create a larger one with 20-30% more capacity. A used 990 rad should cost closer to 100-150$ and another 50$ for the work. Of course i'll have to relocate the oil tank, which will be part of a underseat oil tank + fairing mounted oil cooler project.
Sounds like a great ay to increase cooling. Hovv you vvill merge the 2 parts i don´t knovv but if you go vvith ´something like the RC8 size you have to modify your tanks. And my experience is that it can´t be done vvith the original tanks.
ps: Safaritanks though is another story, can tell about that in a month...

Are you sure that the bike will run with the rollover sensor mounted like this? It looks like it's mounted like the bike will think its down on the ground all the time! Could even be why the bike wont start? Or did you move it already?
Hmmm novv you got me thinking, but as the bike is at the dealer i can´t check it. Then again i think i maybe moved it. I´ll report it on to the dealer. VVill have a chat vvith him tomorrovv to clarify hovv many hours and such.
This dosn´t have much todo vvith the project and then again, this is here i tasted the "offroad" on the 950 some years ago. I´ll soon take a visit here again...just faster...and avoid the German made obstacles.

Then again, vvhat type of resistor vvould be used for bridging it out?
Spoke vvith the dealer today and i has started vvith the diagnostic tool xc-1 and as i assumed he stumbled into problem betvveen the ECU and immo.
So it spun for a whilo on its own!!!!
It did not start. I wrote it wrong. He started testing with the diagnostic tool and got to the ecu/immo problem. Sorry for sucking to English grammar
