When has CB ever claimed any of his rides have been unsupported?

I don't think anyone is being negative about his effort, even fully supported on a KTM it would still be one hell of a tough ride, I simply asked if it was TK's record he was after, and someone asked the definition of a unsupported ride.

From what I have read it was a new record because he states a set of rules (cross the Simpson, one set of tyres), so I was simply saying it can't really be compared with TK's (or Bill and Phils) original time because he took a different route.

And if you had read the whole thread, you would know there are at least three more people who could comment according to your opinion. :lol3

I know I wasn't criticizing the bloke, just asking for clarification.

I admire all long distance riders.:D

Whats the difference in pulling up at a servo for fuel and water and digging up some stashed away? To my mind there were less people involved and he actually rode C2C twice I'm assuming, one solo and unsupported. I love stories like this where a guy sets out with a goal, plans it then without any fanfare nails it.

C2C via the Simpson is just that isnt it? Seems that's what he did. If others, who have my uptmost respect, went a longer route so be it but seeing as its a record if you cross the continent via Mt Dare across the Simspon to Birdsville isnt that enough to claim it? Even harder solo and having to find buried supplies etc.

Didnt someone from here meet him out in the Simpson?

At the end of the day still an amazing effort.

I have two issues with the claim , he claims to be the worlds Greatest Adventurer ( fookin' big claim that :huh ) , and has supplied no means of verification that he has done as claimed . It could ( although probably not ) be a big hoax , how are we to know ?

Phil and Bill had us all watching their every move , we can all verify their ride .

Just having a go is good enough
most who have a go have some form of support
tk and don had a fourby
    phil and bill a plane
    posties had fourbys,
even the guys who didn't have a truck still had supplies in one coming if needed
    tyres waiting at a location
    sat phones ,computers etc

it's just what you gotta do
every attempt is a little different

can't say too much i didn't go thru the simpson:eek1
    went under it:lol3
next time i will go thru it:evil

adam i think was the guy on the xr
    nice bloke

I think Phil & Bill have the record for the route they took.
This bloke has the record for the route he took.

The whole idea of a coast to coast record is very subjective.
And this would be the reason there will never be a definitive coast to coast record.

Congrats to those who do it but ease up on the chest beating please.

An "official" route would only bring the attention of the "Authorities" anyway.

My vote also goes to the C to C posties.

His rules said 1 tire (unless shredded). So not really a rule? What about drugs? Can you take drugs? He could have saved a couple hours of sleep. I assume you can speed if not caught?

Seems like advrider should make a few basic rules so we can all give an official record a go :rofl
