Her wrist is doing better, she has been wearing the brace when riding and at night after a ride. The bad news is that she appears to have a mild case of dengue fever, so needless to say she hasn't been much fun lately. :eek1. She seems to be on the mend, she just has a bad rash and is extremely itchy. But she's a tough old bird and even managed the ride to the ferry to Koh Phangan two days ago.

There really isn't such a thing as "mild" dengue fever, Colin – either you have it (and it's always serious) or you don't. Don't fudd around with dengue; get Re checked out at a local clinic to be certain.

If it's indeed dengue ... Fresh coconut water and boiled crab soup (and get to enjoy the crab as well.)

Let us know how she's doing after this; take care you two.

I spent all weekend catching up here and getting Re's side from the blog. :rofl

Thank you for taking the time and energy to write these up and share with us. I can't express how much I enjoy reading and learning from you. This isn't my husbands comfort zone...so this is helping me ease him into the idea of possible trips.

Re, there are lots of guys here showing support, but want to let you know from one ADVgrrl to another...YOU ROCK! I'm reading along and enjoying it!

when I saw this picture my brain got confused...nothing looked right about it concerning the position of the Ferry and it's drop gate. It seemed like the ferry was wider than it was long and is that some kind of motorized boat lashed up next to it on the right side to propel it across the river? While trying to sort it all out I looked around some more for a "bridge" where a captian might be seated and then saw what looked like the ass end of an elephant in the bed of a truck, somewhat camoflaged by the trees in the background...wow, just keeps getting stranger and stranger...funny how the mind tries to make sense of a picture where things just don't look right.

Great trip you guys, thanks for sharing your adventures, I've really enjoyed your writting and the pictures.

I just spent the last week chipping away at this RR. What a kick ass adventure! Thanks for sharing your trip and thanks for the motivation. I've got an old Honda C70 tucked under my parents' deck that I'm going to dig out and get running again. :clap

After 6 days on Koh Phangan and 2 days of limping my damaged Symba back to Malaysia, we are finally in wifi country. We did manage to get some writing done between swimming, tanning, reading, :evil, and eating, so updates should soon appear. We are stuck in George Town 'til we get some parts, so if anyone happens to have a spare Symba clutch and clutch adjuster bolt lying around, let me know. :cry Look for all the gory details soon! All I can let slip is that Gorilla Tape can fix an oil leak!

Exactly. Rather the SYM than you. Hope you weren't hurt in the making of this story.
