    The question was asked:

    Trials in NorCal!!!
Sorry, I got a little excited. Are these events spectator friendly?

The answer is ---- It really depends on the venue.

While Frank Raines does not encourage folks without vehicles over the bridge and into the riding area,
there were definitely a lot of spectators on Saturday, Feb 25th. And rider turnout was the best we've seen in years.
    Around 62 competitors, I believe.

The upcoming event at Prairie City in Rancho Cordova on March 24 & 25 has no such park restrictions.

Saturday events (vintage/beginner) tend to be a little less far flung, and some Sunday organizers really try and make
a fun loop, which sometimes makes the distance between sections a bit longer, but not always.

The Carr trial in Chrome, CA on April 14 & 15 (google map it) usually has quite a few sections that are easy to walk to.

And the British American Cup, this year at Frank Raines on April 28 & 29, is a two-day Class A trial that the organizers want to replicate trials events from days gone by. A long loop with sections closer in. And a pot-luck
    dinner Saturday night.

There is also an attempt by Saturday organizers this year to make Saturday events a bit more AHRMA friendly,
so dust off those older bikes and come join us for a great time.

Sure you can ride with me, or anyone else in the club, at your pleasure.
Will you be riding a trials bike? Which one?
Have you ridden a trials before?

The answers to these questions will help determine an appropriate class to ride in.
If we can get another rider in the same class, this is usually helpful.

If this is your first trials, or it has been awhile, I usually recommend trying an easier class.
Anytime before you complete your first loop, you can always change your class.

Depending on your experience in off-road riding (assuming no trials history), many start
on the 3 line, some on the 2 line, a very few on the 1 line.
The whole idea is to have fun while you check it out and see if trials is for you.

I look forward to meeting you, and hopefully riding with you too.
Just ask anyone for Paul, the guy with the electric trials bike.
    See you at PC.

I am not sure what kind of bike I will bring. But I am coming. It sounds like so much fun. Is there camping, I think I will try to ride both days. are there showers there ? Looks like alot of rain is coming, but that weekend it should be nice. My son wants to ride also. We are trying to talk my wife into coming too! I will try to find you. I am already getting nervous.

Something new this year at the fantastic Carr Ranch venue – AHRMA & PITS event on Saturday. Saturday lines have been laid out with AHRMA machines in mind.
A nice loop with no rocks for 4,3,and 2 lines. 1 line has no big walls or steps.
0 line is roughly Class A Advanced level. All lines of all sections have been ridden in, so no surprises.

Also, no road closures this year from the Orland (North) direction as the Triathlon won’t be held on this weekend.

Carr Ranch is a beautiful place, and the Carr’s are fabulous in their generosity. Bring you cameras (still or video), you won’t regret it. Or bring your bike and give trials a go.

This year PITS has made it easier than ever for first timers in that you do not need to join PITS or AMA for your first outing, just pay the event fee. If you decide you like it, then join. We really have a great bunch of folks in the club, always very helpful and friendly.

The Class A trial on Sunday is for a more adept group of riders, but the spectating is great.

There is a small overnight camping fee for dry camping. We hope to see you there.
