This is where students at this upstate (look north) University get their caffeine fix.

Excellent grab and tag! Now that the flu has receded all I need is the weather to recede so I can get back into this game!

I wanted to ask you, I'm thinking of trying a scooter, never had one. Do I need both a bike and a scooter to keep me happy or can a scooter stand on its own?

Scooters are great. If I didn't ride 2up all three times I'd be fine with only a scooter. All depends on how you like to ride. See if you can hook up with someone and take theirs for a spin.

The C650GT scratches 90% of my motorcycling itch. I need another Ducati Hypermotard for that last 10%. I bought a Yamaha Majesty (400cc) super scooter 3 yrs ago as a fuel efficient, comfortable commuter to augment my big bikes. Before long I found myself riding it most of the time. Between the nimble handling, under-seat storage and great fuel milage it quickly became my everyday bike. I've done many 400 mile days on highways and mountain roads and never felt it was overwhelmed.
I bought the BMW because I'm looking forward to doing more coast to coast trips. I would stack it up against an F800ST as the better touring bike any day. If your riding has a good bit of urban and suburban riding you'll be happier on it than a R1200RT. Bold words but the bike backs it up.
If you want to dip your toe in the touring scooter waters in an affordable way, my Majesty is for sale for 1/4 of the price of the BMW. Then you can figure out if it is for you before dropping big bucks on a new one.

That's my daughter playing Vanna White. If you think she's good at modeling, you should see her at the shooting range makin' daddy proud.
