After all the "Little Pink Houses" stuff I figured I'd better get motorin' up the hill if we were gonna' make it... it was ~5pm (I think) by the time I left there and headed into Mt Rainier National Park... skies were not so ominous here - but it wasn't "warm" either...
Anyways, I forget how much further it was... another ~30 miles or so, I guess, until we hit the end of the road.
They say the snow level will drop to ~3,000 feet tonight, and we'll get snow on the major passes again... Good thing Mr. Nutsy is in a nice warm place.
We made it back home ~8pm or so - I had to break out the toe-warmers (stick 'em to your shirt, helps keep ya' warm) to make it down off the hill, and stopped off for some coffee and a few sessions with the hand-dryer in the can... :d ~150 miles round trip. HEY! If you're gonna' come to the WetSide, ya' gotta' go to Paradise - I think it's in the r00lz.
We are in Portland, OR now; more to follow...
Technical Difficulties resolved...
We made it to here that day:
about 20 miles past Mt Angel, to Silver Falls State Park campground. It wasn't bad (I like the place) except for a little rain. :umbrella
dis here is the "South Falls" there's ~10 miles of hiking should you be so inclined... and lemme' tell ya' there's lots of inclines if you go hiking. I slay me.
Dis is the "North Falls."
...headed to Apple Jam's Cinco de Drinko (or sumptin' like that)
Wuz gonna stop in Mt Angel for breakfast, but just took a pitcher instead :slurp
Stopped for a pose @ the place made famous... by Shocktower.
Nice road though... I'll grant ya' that much. In places... outside of Molalla.
Oh yeah - there's a COUPLE stories about that lil' pile of wood, now, too.
Sr. Nutsie decided we should divert to Dufor, and collect the neglected SKUNK while we were in the neighborhood...
Spent the night in Parkland, and next mornin' swung through Odell to visit w/the RedMenace
He had another one o'them classes goin' on... Sr. Nutsie approves. He likez dat...
We also stopped at the Bonneville Dam, but... well, you know
After seven months in Washington, he has decided that he likes it "Green." "...and wet."
Here's your drop site.
Thanks for lettin' me 'tag along' on your adventure, Sr. Nutsie - I stopped at a lot of places I would normally have rode on past... three weekends on three different bikes, hope that helped stretch your legs after that long winter.
Great Job Tony !
now...if I had any frikken idea where the hell this drop is................................
you of ALL people, should KNOW where that is... but if ya' don't... try zooming in on the picture and read the sign where it says "HINT" and google it.
Little far for me to go get it, but I tried that zooming and it got worse the closer I got.
Dude, I don't know how to tell you this, but that stuff on CSI where they take a shitty, blurry photo and zoom all the way into 1 pixel and can read the super fine print? Well, that's shit. It don't happen that way in the real world.
Perhaps something like lat/long coordinates would be more helpful. The last hide had those and it still took somebody 6-7 months to find it.
google "Vista House" - I thought it wasn't difficult, but I won't wait a couple months to give a hint either.
Its not a guessing game, its a riding game. Nice job. Please tell us where nuts is.
