The question is, what voltage does your phone require?
well it charges on a usb cable from a pc so I assume 5 volts but why would this device state that it is not compatible with Motorola products :huh
I just ordered one to Canada.
Hopefully you ship USPS so I don't get dinged by those greedy UPS bas$%^@ at the border!
I would guess that either Motorola equipment is highly sensitive to voltages, or it is just trying to be propriatary. You may have to check with them. Look it up on their web site.
First Class USPS to Canada marked as a gift.
I think the manufacturer of the USB charger might be generalizing with 'all' Motorola products. Check out this website explaining how Motorola uses USB...
If the USB Charger does not work with your phone you can return it for a full refund.
Gift? Why thanks Burnsy! I hardly know ya!
Looking forward to it!
I lived at St. George & Bloor for 10 years.
Scott, you want him back? We'll send him if you miss him
Good enough. It should work since a generic usb cable works. I just ordered one along with a fuel pump bypass cable so just wait till the usb sockets come in and ship em both together.
Will do David. Thanks for your order!
Just ordered a couple.
All packaged up and shipping in the morning.
22 more in stock.
Ordering two...rough shipping time to Los Angeles? My girlfriend leaves for our trip next Friday night, just need them by then.
I may have to order up a couple of these soon :)
50 more in stock!
Anyone using this with their iPhone 3GS? Installed mine last weekend and tested it out for about a minute and thought all was good. Went for a good 5 hour ride today. I have my iPhone in a RAM mount and only use it for some tunes. Stopped in the middle of nowhere on a fire road to plug in my charger cable because it was getting low on juice. Went on my merry way for about 20 seconds and it popped up and said "Device not compatible with your iPhone" and it stopped charging!
Anyone else tried using this with their iPhone 3GS? If you have an original iPhone or an iPhone 3G, the charging requirements are different so no need to chime in if you have one of those models.
I'll do a test tomorrow with my friend's iPhone 3GS.
I will also call the manufacturer to see what they have to say.
I found some info which may explain the problem...
I would suggest trying another iphone cable for diagnosing purposes.
If that doesn't work, you can return the charger and I'll refund you fully including the shipping both ways.
Thank you for responding so quickly. I will try another usb cable tomorrow. I'm afraid I've already thrown away the packaging and modified the bracket to mount it to my bike. It wouldn't be fair to return it to you in this condition.
Please let me know what you find.
just wired mine up to my KTM, charges my iphone fine.... apple brand wire, 3GS phone...
