Roger that, I've avoided Jackson for the past 15 years and plan to come nowhere close.
No word from TJ so still looking for a rider or two. I'm figuring 2 nights camping off the bikes, Sunday and Monday. The only piece of the plan in question is weather, I've seen some longer range forecasts that predict cloud cover. We won't know that till a few days before. BTW, this will include 100 or so miles of unpaved dirt so it should qualify as a dual sport ride.

Weather watching for a few more days to confirm a 2 night trip. Looks like go/no go decision Friday or Saturday.
Anyone else who wants to camp off your bike for a couple nights in the zone of totality?
Sounds so ominous, zone of totality.....:lol3

    Nice.
Was this your first BDR? If not, how did it stack up to the others? Trying to decide between a late summer WABDR or IDBDR. I've done UT, CO and AZ.

I've done UT and Idaho now. Idaho is easier but grueling, as sections are long. I've heard that WA has shorter sections and still big bike friendly.

Look for a conversation, anyone else is welcome. Meet up at Einsteins 10 am Sunday and head north. Plan to camp off the bikes 1-2 nights depending on traffic.

A 250 mile loop from the house today. Over Guardsman to Strawberry then trail 9, 11, 13 etc through Diamond and Hobble, a bit of Squaw then Springville to home.
Bike only landed upside down twice. A good day. P1040382-1600x1200.JPG IMG_20170820_112001.jpg P1040380.JPG P1040389.JPG

We got in a measly 60 miles today in diamond, got in a little hill climbing back near the power lines. Also seen the fire helicopter and firefighters finishing up a burn area off sheep creek

So, Trailtwister and I met up after I connected with a couple of riders from Salida, Co. I was eating ice cream in Pinedale when the Adventure went past and I mistook them for Trailtwister. It ended up working out great for the 4 of us to camp at Mosquito Lake which was just south of the absolute line of Totality on the Union Pass road. We got around 2.5 minutes of lights out. Spectacular!
