If McCain and Sarah Palin were currently president, I'm sure that electrical workers would have trickled down and I'd not have to deal w/ such offensive menial labor as I am confronted with. While Ryman is as conservative as they come, I'm sure he might offer to kick the balls (mods: soccer balls) of any offender of hard working liberals before they get custom tours or said offenders might never see Death Star Canyon.

Sarah Palin 2012! I can see Russia from my front porch!

KMC1: Saturday probably won't work for me, unless you want to do an epic twistie slab tour that may or may not happen, but if so, all day, half the state. (my little bro ride a stupid Harley, rode sand dune last sat...).

    :lol3

LOL..... I don't know if the workers would have trickled down, but at least the U.S. would still have a line of credit good enough so you could borrow the money to hire some workers to come do the work for you like a good Republican would! :rofl

And I only know Ryman from reading on here, and even I know I don't want him anywhere near MY soccer balls! :rofl(Sorry Ryman, it was just too easy to pass it up!:D )

You know, if there aren't any takers for a trail ride on Saturday, I could actually get into a long road ride - I got out 2 weeks ago for a 700 mile weekend, and it was pretty terrific but felt a little too short..... sooooo...... :ear

As it stands right now I have all day Saturday into Sunday AM free. (Can't trail ride at night though - stock KTM glowplug..I mean headlight still on it)

The best way to relieve stress is to go for a ride in the sunshine. Since the weather is scheduled to degrade soon, I decided to make a run for it. The sun was out & soon I found some aspen...

I wandered around checking some trails & roads that I had not been on before. Soon I wound myself on a steady uphill climb on a gnarly trail...

Continuing to climb I found some of this. Hmmm...Winter is on it's way...

I finally ended up here. Where am I?...

Since the shadows were getting long I headed home for the day. But there were more sights to see so I returned the next day.

I checked out this trail but it looked pretty ugly being several miles of uphill rock garden so I bailed. I didn't want to work that hard today. Recognize it?

    Finding another trail...

This trail was mo betta as it was in the sun & scenic...

Soon I ended up here. More mine tailings. Man, these people really worked their butts off diggin these holes...

    Been here ?

Finally, I felt relaxed & headed home. Good therapy. I recommend to anyone! :D

That depends on you. Not totally steep but quite a bunch of rocks in the trail on the way up. Typical of old mining roads that have suffered 100 years of rain n snow. Nice fun ride, tho. Wouldn't do it w/o knobs. That is true for most old mine roads around here. Always impressive to me is how steep they made these roads that were traveled by wagons powered by mules. Not to mention the switchbacks the wagons negotiated.

I'm going out w/ my little brother on a big slab ride if anyone's interested. Probably meet at the base of BCC around 1:00 on Saturday, and ride till sunset.

Guardsmans pass, midway, wolf creek pass, Hanna, Duschenne, Price, Huntington/cyn, Fairview, hwy 89 to 6, springville, slab i-15 home...
