So when are you going to point that Rat bike towards destinations west?
i'm not familiar with either bike so i have no idea how easy it would be to make that swap. seems the ex250 would a good runner with the OEM motor and the changes you decided on, wheels and suspension.
be in august, i'm swamped until then. no dates set yet.
you happy with the 800 suspension now?
I can see a set of bike pedals on this thing
going down my short list, i had to mount the power outlets to the bar riser bolts. i had already turned the outlets around 180 in the bracket for use with the Verrsys tank, but when i went to mount the bracket...oops, the upper bolts are spaced 10mm wider on center, now i need a new bracket instead of a 5 minute job.
old on left, new on right.
and training wheels, it's child size.
August sounds great. I'm swamped early this year also.
I haven't got the suspension on yet. If your mechanic has some free time I'll hire him.
so would i...if i could find him.
Your kinda hard on the help. First the painter, then the glass man, and now the mechanic.
yeah, got rid of all those SOBs...the next build is going to have some competent people.
Send them over to my place. They are loads better than my lousy work crew.
i would, but they're easily lost, never find the place.
Well I finally bribed the mechanic with the promise of a ride tomorrow. Should be a balmy 45F with snow and rain.
The shock is new too. You might notice that something fell off during this operation.
Had to add something to keep the shock clean.
I put the key in to start it up and take it for a test drive, and the battery is dead. :huh Guess I'll get to try it out tomorrow.
missing canister and chainguard at least. man, parts coming off faster than you put the new ones on. you sure my mechanic didn't fly out there to lend a hand?
that must be a hydraulic preload ohlins. is there an upgrade on the shock bolt that you do at the same time?
sunny and 70 here, but i'm stuck changing an axle on one of my 10 ton tag trailers, bah. seal on the oil bath hub failed on the interstate and destroyed the spindle. first ever failure for me on one of those dexters, but they fabbed a complete new custom axle assembly from the ID tag and had it to me LTL in 5 days, pretty cool.
Chain gaurd is back on, the charcol canister is not. This morning its 39, w/ 50 mph wind and snow blowing. The interstate is closed. :huh
Dexter seems to be a pretty good outfit. Hopefully your running soon.
You need to get out more, I was up to Bozeman and back 2 weeks ago, and Great Falls and back this week. (Not sure quite what i am saying about myself, snow 3 of the 4 days.... probably should have taken the cage....)
I said the interstate is closed grndzr. Dang pricks in the bannana belt have to rub in the fact they are riding already.
What do you mean "riding already"? I never quit riding.
It's funny - having grown up in Maryland, I get such a kick out of native Californians whinging and whining about "oooh, the weather is sooo cold". I just look at them and say "you have no idea how cushy the weather is here."
swapped that heavy mofo in, a wrasslin' match, but i out cussed it and won.
get your studded tires on there, extent the riding season another month.
