anyone up for a ride sometime? was thinking the 27th if anyone has the day off!
I'll come out for a ride! Need a bike though, sold my DRZ400s, and my LC4 640 was stolen in Western Australia was stolen.
sucks your bike was stolen, sorry don't have the luxury of a spare bike to lend!
Hi guy's just wanted to check in and be counted.
Don't count me unless you want to get on the single track with your plated bike. Places where VStroms and KLRs dont make it. But then I probably know all of those guys/girls anyways...
I'd put Lee Johns on his KLR against pretty much anyone I know in a single track riding anything they want..
You should not assume that these bikes cant make it there.. it is the skills that ride the bike.
Dont you think??
Havea good one
Happy new year to all my riding friends on the island.. May this 2013 bring you miles of road, dirt, whatever and endless smiles and memories.
Remember! Someone said
"We don't stop riding because we get old, we get old because we stop riding"
Happy new year again
Well said, rider skill counts for a lot...
I have seen KLRs chug up some pretty gnarly hills and make it look easy compared to the smaller bikes when it was their turn...
And happy New Year to you Paul...
Hey! I resemble that remark. Happy New Year Paul!
Even though I'm moving on from my KLR I still recall schooling some dudes who thought that big old pig couldn't catch them. Not that I'm some super star rider But I'm just a little crazy enough to take that challange.
The tractor is only part of the package.
Thank you so much Richard.. The best to you and Ingrid.
The way we are going now Richard, we are going to live forever..
I am on the island from the 8th to the 13.. If you want to do coffee let me know.. 250-812-3276
Just thought I'd jump on the thread! In tofino with a 650gs. Just finished an 8 month trip to panama and back. Nice to be home on the coast though. If anyone's ever in town for a beer or whatever let me know!
I'm curious about the job situation on Vancouver Island. Is it difficult to find a decent paying job? What fields of work are most common?
Recently departed Vancouver Island ( Victoria ) on the 30th of December 2012 - Hoping to find solid work in Alberta! Might be moving to Red Deer ( 90 % chance that I will be by Monday Jan 14th 2013! ) Currently in Edmonton, jobs here are easy to find If you are qualified tradesman of some sort.
Best of luck finding a " high paying job " on the Island. They are there just didn't really try myself.
Fields of work: Tourism...
Thanks for the reply, fujian! Not ready to go as far north as Edmonton...yet. Good luck to you!
anyone been out riding much? i have my bike in Pat Bay right now, a little icy in the AM but havnt had to much trouble this winter.
Just got her home after my 100k service and a few other things...looking forward to some OK, to great, weather to get some riding in. Really looking forward to Spring time and hitting the more 'remote' areas of the South Isle, Nitinaht, Cowichan, Port Renfrew, Nanaimo Lakes, etc., etc. then more of this Island. Between regular campsites (expensive) the Recreation sites and 'guerilla sites' there's lots to see...let's connect and share some routes, tracks, sights, and sites...then too see some Mid to North Island places I've only touched on a wee bit....gettin' stoked.
anyone for a mid week ride?
Was a great day to ride today, left Vic for coffee in Mill Bay, but it was so perfect just kept going for the Duncan Timmys instead. Still couldnt head home with the great weather so pushed up to do some shopping at Wholesale Sports in Nanaimo, then down to the Crow and Gate for lunch. Not many bikes out at all, guess no one was ready for such a perfect day.
I noticed the same! Hardly anyone out! Do people forget why we live here?
Just got some work done on my DRZ, valve adjust and new cam chain, now she just purrs!
