Sunday was pretty good for half a day, then in the afternoon the drizzle started and we found some of the passes still snowed in..

We rode the Discovery loop in the AM as a backup plan when are intended route was closed at a damaged bridge..

Gonna try Cumberland to Port Alberni this Sat. (27th). Going with a couple work buddies on a drz400 and ktm exc300, myself Africa Twin. We want to try the Wilemar-Nimnim lake route, as we went up the mountain south of Wilemar last fall. Down onto Long Lake main, and decide which route from there (bridge and gate dependant). Meet up at Cumberland Gas'n'go on Bevan Ave @830am, if anyone wants to join. Change of plans slightly...Some are a little under the weather due to Friday night activities, so set to go at noon.

Greetings to all Republic of Vancouver Islanders and those who wish to be.....I hope this isn't too much but for the first time am doing a ride for charity....am a member of the "Wrong Way Around" team....completely understand if you have other charities you prefer to support, as again someone is asking for donations...so if you fellow prostate owners wish....https://www.gifttool.com/athon/OurTeamPage?ID=1810&AID=3513&TID=24759
Cheers and looking forward to a great riding season here (which is twelve months per year).

Between the 3 sites: dsbc, here and pacific dualsport riders facebook group all open rides are pretty much posted.. So watch for upcoming posts...The next event upcoming is a day ride with the CR quad club, it is geared for experienced riders though as some rough terrain will be covered.

Thanks for the invite! Island hopper.
    Unfortunately I have to work.
I drive btrain gasoline tanker and work 4 days on then get 4 days off. Nice to get 4 days off, except they are always different.
I'll keep watching, I'm sure I'll be able to tag along at some point

I am located in the Cowichan Valley and have been exploring the valley quite a bit this spring on my own. As much as I love riding on my own, the thought of getting stranded in the middle of nowhere is keeping me from fully relaxing. I tried looking at some of the forums mentioned above but haven't seen much activity on the South Island. Maybe I haven't been looking hard enough.
Are there any riders in the Cowichan Valley on this forum?

Cowichan bay here, there are quite a few rides posted on the facebook page, "Pacific Dualsport Riders": https://www.facebook.com/groups/pacificdualsportriders/ I have never been to one of these rides myself as I am usually a late starter on the weekends

I'm giving away a blue Clarke 3.9G tank from a DRZ400S. Reason being it's old, and leaks from the upper boss that holds the cowl on.

Maybe someone's doing a build and this will be enough to get them going. As long as you don't fill it over 3/4 full, it's fine.

I live in an apartment, and have too much stuff! If no one bites, it's going in the garbage!

I also have a leaky stock tank if anyone's interested. No rust, just a crack that needs welding. I might want a beer for that one.. Cheers.

    Hey! Gunnerbuck
This might work out well, I've been trying to get together some guys here (V-Stromers) in Nanaimo for a trip up north for Friday night. Hoping for Free camping around Woss? Still trying to pull it together but I or (we), might be able to carry on from there with your crowd.

i know you have a 690, what bikes do the other fellows ride? The route I plan on doing will be too rough for the more street oriented bikes like the V-Strom..
