Very nice! I would love to own a Sportsmobile too. Even with 4wd vans, one is just not enough :)

    McBike & Roonie,

Do those tops go straight up or at an angle?

This was our van. That's me in the hat. That box on the roof was where my brother and I slept on camping trips ... after we slid the canoe off.

This is the same van after my dad rolled it. This is how I learned to drive. I guess you could call it a "van conversion."

Awesome! I am so impressed with guys who do major major rebuilds with a one car garage (or NO garage).

    Bravo :clap

Thanks, I am glad someone was impressed, since I doubt my neighbors were. Especially with my redneck lift next to the garage :lol3

It was actually only up for a day or so, and was much stronger and stable than it looks. No, really!

This van conversion looks like fun and would surely get me in trouble! Now I must consider it.

So I'm back to looking for a van. I know that I need something "practical" but you can tell that I lust for the 70's/80's customs. :lol3 There's been one for sale near home that has been calling for me, so I had to stop by today and confirm my suspicions; yep, way more work than I want to tackle. But damn it's cool. :lol2

With the advancement in wrapping you can have a pretty cool van without the custom paint job. And, you could change it whenever you wanted.

This one is a good example. :thumb

You can also perforate the wrap, so you can see out of the windows. But if it's rainy the drops obscure everything.

Also, they fade after a few years. We had two logos on these rear windows up until last year, now you can barely see them.
