I wonder how many of these are still out there?
I've only had three vans, a 71 VW, a 67 Ford with all the "Van" stuff, and a 79 Chevy Custom.
I'll post pics tonight if I remember!
There were a couple of those at the Carlisle Import/Kit Car nationals a few years back.
Damn, Jay, that was a sweet setup you put together.
That's what I had, mine was blue, I think it was a '69......
It was not cool.
I wanted a '76 Tradesman.
When, I was 14, I would spent hours looking through the Sears catalog at all the cool shit I was going to put on my dream van.
My neighbor has one of those. It's pretty beat up, but I'm still jealous.
I love mine.. Had pickups for years, now I have seen the light.
Here's some shots of mine from 10 days camping in Death Valley, just got back Monday night.
I like this OKA van made in Australia.
I really wanted a VW Syncro Westy but they are really expensive if you can find one.
I was hoping that VW would go ahead with the next microbus.
This Mercedes concept would be nice.
They did. It's the 2010 VW WTF
A Chrysler with VW badges and trim.
No excuse for that kind of stupidity.
This Verdier VW concept was really cool.
Had to edit these...
Everyone in our family had vans in the 70's. I drove one in high school for a while, and just mentioned to SWMBO yesterday that a van needs to be our next vehicle. Far too practical on most every level.
Love the edit. oser
My dad was a great guy. He usually had a spare car or truck of some kind, other than what he and mom drove. When I lived in New Mexico it was a van. He and mom were coming down for the holidays, and he told me that they were going to drive so that they "could see the sights along the way".
A few days later I was talking to my brother and he told me that I was getting something really cool for Christmas. That's when it hit me and I said "The Van". It was a 3/4 ton Plymouth. I drove it all over New Mexico and southern Colorado. Hauled motorcycles, camped in it, hunted out of it.
Until this thread I'd kinda forgotten how many good times I had in it. I wish I had a scanner.
Did anyone have old Econolines?
I just stole this picture but there were a couple of cool ones in my high school, in the late 70's. I thought they were neat.
It's got a drawer!
My (ex)2003 Eurovan, sold last year.
I always wanted a naked viking maiden surrounded by wolves mural painted on the sides but Beezwife wouldn't go for it.
