Hi everyone! Can anyone help me please??
I just bought a barely used (512 miles) 2004 Vento Phantom R4i from a guy on craigslist. It looks like it has never been registered. When I took it to the DMV in California today they said it is missing the emission label and thus cannot register it!

    WHAT CAN I DO??

I was told that Vento no longer exists as a company, so shall I just contact some dealers and see if they can help? I found the scooter's manual online (http://www.vento.com/web/datos/Vento PHANTOM R4i MANUAL.pdf) and it says that the emission label SHOULD be there! Below is the excerpt.
Thanks for any feedback!! I greatly appreciate your help!

    CALIFORNIA E.P.A. (C.A.R.B.)
This vehicle and its engine are certified to meet the California Air Resources Board (CARB) emission and evaporative standards. THE EMISSIONS LABEL LOCATED ON THE BOTTOM SURFACE OF THE SEAT (well, it's NOT there!) on your motorcycle contains statements, specifications, basic tune-up, and certified family names required by the regulations mentioned above. The evaporative emissions diagram can also be found there.

Call around to MC salvages and look for a seat that has it on. If no luck there, go to a scooter forum and get someone to send you a jpeg of one. Recreate it in Photoshop and print it out on sticker stock, put it in the appropriate spot. :thumb
