Here are a few of the photos that I got on this ride. It was one rocky SOB for almost half of the ride. I am sure glad I have a steering damper now...:clap

Here is Dillon motoring along Bloody Basin heading to the GWT turn.

    And there he goes

And soon to catch up, he was hauling ass pretty good here.

My new ride pointing in the right direction, for now....

About a third of the way down the big hill, I stopped to get a few photos and take a quick break.

Here is Yardstick coming my way
    [IMG]

and one really close up. I am glad that he didn't run me over

    here come Dillon

At the bottom of the nasty hill, oldtimertc finds a small shade area to take a break.

After making it down the hill, we still had some nasty rock ahead of us before getting to FR16 (I think this is the FR#). Here is Dillon making one of the climbs, and as we all know it is steeper than what the picture shows.

Here is a picture of Yardstick after a making a medical repair to his nose. He got a little too close to one of the nasty bush/tree branches we have in the desert. I didn't get any of the blood though...

And my last photo of the day. Here is what my new ride looks like sitting along the road, out of gas.

What a great ride it was. Great friends to ride with and did anyone mention that we encountered a little rock along the way....:lol3 :rofl

Great pics, great riding (except the part about getting up so damn early) - That's right in my backyard!

Great ride guys. I remember the one that Nightstalker busted his tank playing 'take out the bowling ball size boulder with my engine guard' I was still on my kLR650. That was a serious ride but worth it with the views as you went down the hill into Verde River Valley.

So how did the new ride treat you Brad. Looks like a good fit.

Bernie. Do you have a stabilizer on your bike. That front wheel was sure dancing around on that down hill. It almost looked like you had the bars straight and the wheel was going where ever it wanted to.

The new ride is great! It's a lot more fun and responsive than the DRZ was. I am amazed at the power it puts out and the suspension is awesome. :clap
