I'm not a corner worker, but I've camped in lot 2 since they started racing motogp bikes there, it used to be pretty nice, but every year, more and more retards show up to simply party and act like dumbfucks, they don't even know there is a race going on. last year was my last, I'll be staying in a motel from now on. I like to drink beer and have some fun, but after last year, fuck those idiots.
SO, if you camp there, be prepared.
it's a shame really, it's great to wake up, make some coffee, and listen to the bikes warming up in the pits and watch the sun rise over the grandstands.

Got another message today regarding dinners and parking.

Any input on food for those planning on staying at the track?

If we're camping there, do we still need to get a parking pass, or will it be covered by another?

I seem to remember that the feed they put on Thursday for the instructional meeting, and then on Saturday evening after qualifying, were pretty good.

I'll probably be eating small for breakfast, buying(?) lunch at the track, and having the provided dinners.

If you're camping on site, there seems no need for the parking pass. <s>I'm gonna get it anyhow in case my plans change and/or the camping sucks bad and I decide to stay elsewhere.</s> Edit: nevermind. They said there aren't enough, so I'm just gonna leave my bike at the camp lot and walk over. If the camping is too "festive", I'll just join in or use earplugs.

If you're working the race as a corner marshal, they will provide breakfast juices and muffins, as well as box lunches for you. They are decent enough to hold you over. The dinners were pretty good.

Camping for workers is provided. After additional back and forth with our hosts, I have decided that the free worker camping will suffice. There is a shower facility near our camp.

Therefore, I am NOT paying to camp in lot 2.:deal

Some of the food concessions around the track offer breakfast sandwiches, they are easy to find, there will be people in line! The coffee sucks though.

So, where is our free camping and how do we claim it? I said I wanted to stay Thursday-Saturday night on the paperwork sent back in, do I have to do anything else?

Did you get the follow-up emails about camping?

    I got one as follows:

    "To All USAC Campers:

The camping area will be open and staffed starting at 6:00 am on Monday, August 4th.

We will be sending a list of all campers to the Speedway and they will have your name at the gate. You will be entering the camping area at Lot 4A off of Georgetown Road.

We do not have any camping spots with electric hookups.

If your plans have changed and you will not be using a camping spot, please let me know right away or if you have questions, please let me know.

    Pat Pierson

    USAC Registrar"

You gonna ride out there? I'll be doing a nice, long solo tour up there, but would be interested in riding back with you over the course of 2 days.:1drink

I'm open on the return trip, wouldn't mind stretching it out over a couple days and getting off the big road. We going to have to slab it hard to get there in one day. So taking it easy on the way back sounds good.
