I have a 65% off coupon for Cities in Motion 2 on steam and I am not quite sure where it came from. Free to a good home, if everyone on steam got one disregard this. :lol3

So I actually got my copy of GTAV in time to play it for a about 6 hours on Sunday.

Yay! The FUN is back in GTA!

GTAIV was a huge step back for me. I felt like that game was missing something HUGE but I could never put my finger on what that was exactly. Now I know...fun. That game took itself far too seriously and was too dark and depressing (kind of like the city it was set in).

GTAV is fookin' hilarious -- I laughed my ass off a bunch of times already, even in the story mode. I like the extra side missions too! Game play is really tightened up as well, though I'm having to adjust to the trigger throttle/brake. I played IV in "classic" control mode which mimicked the PS2's controls from III, VC, and SA. Classic mode is no longer an option.

I installed to a 16gig flash drive, and it's been running just fine so far with no rendering problems.

So, Valve is getting ready to release SteamOS which looks like it might entice a console gamer like me, who also enjoys a few of the niche games on Steam. I might actually get back into building a computer if it means I can build myself a gaming machine that I can use with my modest-screen TV, kicking back on my couch...

Oh, and by the way, I ended up buying GTA V, just because there were only a couple of copies left in the PX when I visited it last week, and I'm a sucker for something that seems in short supply. I finished Sleeping Dogs last night, and it was a good game, but it just didn't hold me like the GTA games, or Red Dead Redemption, or Skyrim, or so many of those other open-world types of games. Also, because GTA V was sitting on my coffee table mocking me, I think I rushed through Sleeping Dogs, just to get to GTA... :lol3

[FONT=verdana, arial, helvetica]I don't know how this guy manages to drive while switching the camera all over the place. I can barely keep a car on the road just trying to glance behind me.

Tried to drive the FJ cruiser thing up the huge mountain last night (in GTA). Got it about halfway up and the roads got too steep so I had to go on foot.

Got attacked and killed by a mountain lion!!!

Guess you need to be carrying firepower with you in the woods now and be extra alert for fast moving big cats!

For shits and giggles I'm going to try and get one of the steam box beta hardware pieces but they've got a list of things to qualify. I've got them all except 10 friends, so any 2 of you with steam accounts wanna help a gamer out?

Ok, so now all the Valve announcements are complete. They announced an OS, a box for your livingroom, and a new controller. Is it me, or did they just announce a new gaming console?

So what does this mean for all the hardcore PC gamers? Would you still rather sit at your computer desk and mouse/keyboard through your games, or relax on the couch like a normal person? :lol3

It's huge for people in the middle because steam games can be a lot cheaper. BL2 with the season pass was 20 bucks this summer, cheapest it has been for the 360 all together I think is 70. Plus the Steam box can advance/become a lot cheaper as time goes on since it's going to be largely a basic set of specs and anyone can make them VS Sony/Microsoft who still charge 200 dollars for systems based on mid 2000's hardware, and then another 100 bucks to add in a hard drive that is so tiny you can't even buy them that small anymore.
