Thanks. Actually I am more familiar with sport and sport touring bike. However, with them I can't ride during raining season. Now with the GS, I gotta make this season become riding season also. Just don't limit ourselves within the weather permission.

Welcome! So I need to start buying a bike for you to rent. Good biz then. :lol3

Obtaining the pass thru permission was not easy as we though. Time consuming:

Take a nap at middle of nowhere:

    And finally - access granted:

One by one passed the gate...

This is truly military road, no traffic, no sign of people...

It was good weather then, no rain here:

Stopped for water. Lots of insects flying all around:

    Military bridge:

    Kept on riding:

The road was wetter and wetter...

    Slippery road:

Where on earth did you guys get those monster bikes from? When I visited Vietnam, the biggest bike I could find was 100cc!

    Thank you.

Uhm, when did your last visit? My wife has her 125cc scooter since 2005..
Well, there were lots of big bike imported into Vietnam since the last 7-8 years.
See the link # III.2 from my signature, you may think you are outdated for decades. :lol3

Riding in the rain for some hours, then we came to the highland called Dakmil. Met two friends of ours there:

    Discussed about the next route:

Big thank to this little guy, who have ridden almost 300km semi-offroad to see us here:

Visited in 2011 and have to admit I did not look real hard for a big bike. I mainly kicked back on Phú Quốc Island. Would love to come back and ride a real bike around for a few weeks.

Dang... Look at the photo - poor the scooter. :evil
No wonder that you could not see any big bike around Phu Quoc Island. That's definitely not a place of bikers.
Come back, get a round Hochiminh City and I can show you where all the big bike hidden. :1drink

    VietHorse,
next time I am in Vietnam, I'll ask your advice on finding a bigger bike. I have to admit, that scooter was a little small for me!:rofl

Really enjoying the pictures and the RR. Best wishes to you and safe travels.

    Thanks.
As I have stated somewhere on ADV, I still lack of skill to capture normal life scenes in my photos. It usually be done pretty well if the photographer is a foreigner, or a real tourist. Now here I am a local, so normally I took all riding photos, not the surrounding lives. If I could do so, the thread will be more worth it to view.
