We meandered over to Wakefield (Plantation Peanuts), up 460 to Waverly, then east again to 10, and home.

Good ride. Ate at the Trellis on DOG St. in the burg (nothing else was open when we first got there). Excellent food.

I don't have one of them thar smart phones, so this grab got posted the old fashioned way - do it from home..... and I was obviously lucky your bladder was really full. :-)

What a hoot..... nice to see you out on the Conni...cool pipes...
Showed the picture to Dona and asked..."look familiar?"... she just said "don't you dare post that picture of me....!!!!"
(The one I took of her clinging on to the rail against the mid ship house, in sheer terror.... standing under the "life jacket pullbox" )
But we were on the port side that run....
Damned photobucket stopped us from posting.... so she's safe.... for now...
    Sweet....

Those are the Delkevics I won at the COG National in Helen, GA last year.

LOL! Remember the pix, but I didn't copy it. If she was skeered on this one, she's be a raving lunatic on the Hatton, Whites, or the Millersburg (PA).

Ahhh.... didn't you buy a set of those all chrome ones, wayyyyyy back when I got them, and we both bought a bunch of J boxes, from the Squad Outfitter guy? Couldn't remember...

As for the ferry, she'd be ok on those two ferrys, she could see the other side, and she knows there would be little chance of a shark attack on either of them...
She has a fear of sharks... crazy fear, so much she won't go into the ocean past where she can see her ankles....
She actually asked if sharks ever made their way up that far on the Surry ride... I told her sure, and they come all the way up to the dam, in Richmond....
    I got slapped...

I did get (two) sets of the Eqypt take offs. One set is still in storage, mounted the other and pulled them off the bike (after 9?? years) to put these on. Besides the noise, trailer hitch won't fit.

FWIW - some sharks (kind that can acclimate in and out of fresh water) have been seen in the upper Potomac just below DC. Just watch where you dangle your toes. :-)

    New Tag...........

Money Shot (the clue is in this picture, but see below):

And a clue because the letters are well worn and obscured by the over growth:

The last time I saw that scene was in a B&W picture shot a very long time ago (mid 50's, 60's, ???). Everything was much more visible, and obviously no bike present.

    Have fun; ride safe.

Excellent! I thought it might sit forever given it's obscure location. In hindsight, wished I'd used the building on the other side of the road as the backdrop. It was a little more (IMHO) "artistically" appealing.

FWIW - a relative (by marriage) lived in the house that sits on the knoll on the left immediately after the sharp RH turn. He, and his siblings (MIL included) were born/raised a little before that turn back towards 17. Several of them are buried in the Glebe Landing Baptist Church Cemetery out on 17 heading back towards Saluda.

    LOL! I can relate.

I had a local (guess he was a local) shadow me back there, and kind of hovered in the background when I was turning around and taking my shots. Not comfortable, one of the reasons I skipped taking any more pix. He followed me out and pulled into the seafood place on the corner and just sat there. I went ahead and pulled out, and when I saw him leave in my mirrors, I went back and took the shot of the road and route signs.

I don't normally don't get spooked like that, but just didn't feel comfortable this time around.

When you posted that tag I was curious, and looked at that area... it is pretty secluded for sure... kinda a Glock in the tankbag place...

You probably were too close to Bubba's "cash crop" back in there...

What was that big building out off the point?? Old fishing cannery or such?

That was one time I wasn't carrying. Another hindsight - should have.

Don't know what that building is. Perusing the map before I went, looked like that Rte. 600 runs through someone's property on the way out to the point/causeway. Stopped at the top of the rise to turn around and didn't proceed down over the bank any further.

    LOL!

Nice tag. Local PBS just did an episode repeat of this place several weeks ago. Think your 460 has been there before. :-)

Need to do that to mine. Sun has destroyed the finish something terrible.

That's why I saw that orange top box going South in 17 this morning. I thought to self. Self that's a tagged.

I've only gone by there on 17 five time since it was places. There are a few lots down there cheap. Looks like there is either a huge house with Olympic size pool on the water or a large seafood processing building. Could be used to lauded money. At the end of 600 is a house on an island. Odd looking.

Was just passing through on my way to Maryland. Grabbed the USA TOR in Meadows of Dan, VA and had that with me when I grabbed this tag. Hopefully, someone will grab it soon and keep it moving.
