Ever since the referendum I've had an itch that I need to scratch, which is visiting Kurdistan. The northern Iraq part of it. I know it sounds crazy given the recent instability but would it be possible to start my journey in the Netherlands, go to Turkey, use the Ibrahim Khalil border crossing and visit Erbil? A co-worker of mine is born in Kurdistan, he has contacts at my local embassy / consul general, he has family in Kurdistan and can teach me local customs. So I'm not going in completely blind and naive. I know the risk that I'm taking. What is your opinion?
