I'm planning on riding solo from Vladivostok to London next summer. Can any recent riders comment on the shape of the Amur Highway or other parts. I get conflicting info on the web from 1300 miles of dirt to completely paved. I would also be interested on suggestions for what month to start. My plan at the moment is to be in Vladivostok the beginning of July.

    Thanks!

Did not know that it was called that way but if it is what wiki says it is then that road is cake walk with intermittent roadworks. You can ride from Vladivostok to Moscow without touching dirt. Don't know what kind of bike you're riding but I highly recommend spicing things up a bit in that region because you can have a blast out there off-road. I did not, dwindling Russian visa, still one my big rtw regrets. Cheers.

Thanks folks very helpful! Confirmed over on Horizons as well. Decent road. I'm riding a Honda CRF250l btw. Just rode it across the States and can't wait to continue the ride!

    Hi Marty,
Thanks for asking this question, I've been wondering too. Like a lot of people, it's on my list, except it will be in the opposite direction, London to Vladivostok. All being well, hopefully in 2019, on a Guzzi 1200 Sport.
    Regards,
    Mark.
