Mick Andrews wondering how he got talked into it.
If you really want to get nostalgic.
the Canadian, and this guy said "eyyy" about every 20 seconds...
Guy Cooper defying gravity, while in the cavity.
some poor bastard finding out why the sky shot is best left to the younger generation.
once upon a time Moroney was the absolute king of Unadilla hangtime.
a wiser more subdued 55 year old exits the cavity.
we were at Unadilla when Yamaha unveiled the first production YZ.
Seems fitting Gary Jones was riding one.
a wary defier faces the cavity of gravity.

Just like the old days Trey drove all the way from OKC to Unadilla and back then came to Wichita the next week and won all three classes he was in!
Your right this dude hauled ass in the 70's and STILL hauls ass :eek1
(didn't mean to hijack your thread nachtflug, I'm going to start a Jeeps VMX thread for some more pics, your pics look terrific by the way!)
thanks! that guys a moto stud. christ the KX400 never turned laptimes in 76 like it is in 2012. :huh
trey jorski is the man.
so my up close and personal Trey Jorski story. Saturday and I hear the announcer say nexxt up on the line is +50 expert. I figured it was time to watch a start and why not watch it with experts? even if it's +50 (old guys) it should be worth a look.
I mosey on over to the first turn and decide an up close view would be the way to go with the short lens so I parked my carcass inside of the first turn and casually waited for the gate to drop, which it did.
as the pack approached I quickly realized, (not realizing Mark Barnett, Guy Cooper, and some guy named Jorski were in the group) that these boys were coming at me with exceptional enthusiasm. :eek1
and that some sick bastard (Jorski) was coming right at me and not backing off any time soon. :eek1:eek1
things wee happening very quick and even though it's been quite awhile I knew from my past experiences with first turns in motocross that it was time to do the smart thing and get the heck out of there. I began to back peddle and this crazy was coming even tighter. right at me. :huh
he slid by me like a hot knife through butter as cool as a cucumber acting like this was perfectly normal. Mark Barnett directly behind him is about to find out why Barum went out of business.
at this point I was in full retreat, Barnett was on the way down, and the Nikon burst mode was earning it's keep.
Jorski is off to the races and Barnett is headed to the showers.
friday night. this guy owned both the 91 500 and the 94 250. Both were his own Stanton replica bikes down to as close as he could get them. A friend made all the graphics on both bikes and they were very high quality for home made. the 250 was FUCKING SWEET (as was the 500) and Stanton has already signed them both and both were offered to Stanton to ride but with so many bikes offered these 2 never got the chance. The rider on the 250 (left) is the owner. both he and his buddy on the 500 were from western mass. total mx junkies. Gary Jones looks on. he did not have a lot of money in the 250. serious amount of bike for the money.
Guy Cooper takes a look at what all the comotion is about.
on Sunday the guy sitting on the 500 broke out his 95 KX 250. fucking sweet too these boys knew how to keep a bike.
this thing was a box of parts and a roller chassis with some beat up woods tank a few months ago. another low dollar investment fucking sweet ride. its a buyers market!
he must be thinking, "there's that guy from friday night"
if I ever win a big lotto I'll buy every fucking bike I want. including a CR500 from every year.
sunday legends ride group shot.
Gary Jones. Lechein. Jorski. Stanton. Cooper. Hansen. DeWayne Jones. Carlo Coen (still very fast at mid 40's) Parker.
Great First Corner series! Check out the link embedded below, I think you need a copy of "Exit Stage Left"!

A Freind of mine down here and from mass has one of Jo Jo Kellers 83 cr 250s and he died recently I have been trying to figure out what they did with the bike. Wife has no idea the history of the machine ugh !
My oldest brother actually raced CZs for Bettencourts for a year but they would grenade so much. The old man stopped selling them.
I could name maybe one red sox player as a kid but had a poster of almost all these guys as a kid and adult.
