I'd be interested in pictures / info on how/where Stroms are 'born'.
I have an '05 DL650 bought new last June. Only 3k miles but I mainly commute. So far the adventure has been riding to work as much as I can all winter. Heated grips (symtec) Hippo Hands and a Gerbing jacket liner have kept me plenty warm (down to 22deg for 10 highway miles). I get in about 2-3 days a week so far.
Hoping to get a summer/fall trip in - maybe to Nova Scotia? Not sure my butt is up to it.
Hi Dan. . . .
Hi Jeremy. . . .
Better late than never! 1000 owner here, just bought it in October!
That 2nd pic is fantastic!
edit: they're all nice, but the 2nd made made me go :eek1
Had a 650, crashed it, and bought another 650.
Very nice images!
had a 650, still have it, crashed it, fixed it, but i sure like that deep blue color..... hmmmmm
Cuz I like Stroms...
And latinas caliente too
Woo Hoo, Just picked up my 2004 Wee Strom yesterday. It's blue and all of 3200kms on it so far. :)
Looking forward to some touring on it now.
r-g: Welcome to the best worst-kept secret in the motorcycle world
watch out for the Black ones.... they're faster, and invisible to radar
Picked up my Wee-Strom yesterday.
Now I have something to look forward to when having to go to work,...the ride.
I am new here, but have been lurking for many months now. I had to post as soon as I got my Wee.
Bought my Whee! from a guy in PHX that hurt his back and had to stop riding. I bought it sight unseen from 8000 miles away. I called my wife from Kuwait and asked her to drive to PHX and give him a check for $5900. Had two Givi bags, Throttlemeister and only 1050 miles on her. I picked it up two weeks later when I returned home.
I toured the West last summer. Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Oregon, Washington (a week), and California in two weeks and 4600 miles. Replaced the Throttlemeister with a NEP throttle lock, added handguards, a Givi 46 tail trunk, Pat Walsh skidplate/crashbar combo (my bike was the prototype for fit and finnish) and a Manta tankbag. Not one problem...ever.
That is until last week. Rode home from work and found a big nail through the tread and out the sidewall. :huh I was looking for a reason to replace that trailwing anyway...
So far, 7800 wonderful miles. BTW, it's the Blue one. Fastest of all the Strom colors...Of the thirty or so bikes I've owned...
Best. Bike. Ever.
Hi folks. I picked up my 06 650 on Wednesday 3/1. Traded in a 96 Nighthawk that I owned for 2 years and 21,000 miles. The bike is all you folks have said it is. I've ordered the handguards, should be in any day now. I should have the miles for the 500 mile check and oil change by this weekend. My first long trip for me will be to SE Missouri the first week of April. 570 miles from my home in Ga. That area is covered up in National forests and scenic riverways. Gonna get in a little forest road riding as well. I'm going to try and put a Givi trunk on it before I go...but I already have soft bags. We'll see how that works out. Thanks to all of you for your posts here. They helped with my decision very much.
Thanks for the welcome!
I don't know about that invisible to radar. I scooted past a radar trap on friday and didn't get pulled over Could be cause the po-po were already distracted with ticketing a couple of riced out civics.
fixed it for you Zapp
You have joined the Elite in our effort to make the WeeStrom the most popular Misunderestimated bike on in the Advrider world.
Now go find a gnarly dirt road and get that bike FILTHY, take a picture and let us see it as it should be.
Bought the wee back in '04. Added Motech bars, barkbusters w/ plastic spoilers, and BTO 20's. I find it's good for the road but my KTM's have spoiled me in the dirt...
