I look at this build and the great work done and then I look at my project and how bubba it looks compared to yours. Great work, if my XS 650 project turns out half as good I will be happy, or at least I would have been until reading this!

Remember the old saying, "If you have to ask the price, you probably can't afford it."

The "if you have to ask" is apropos, but also the theory of "the for sale price" and "the NOT for sale price." Pretty sure he's still at the latter stage. We need him at the former!

Sadly, the former only happens to the guys that only ever ALMOST finish this kind of project and get tired of it. He blew this one out of the water by all appearances here, so I'm pretty sure it'll be in his garage for a long time. Which is how it should be.

    Very cool project, great job.

Having been to Palouse Falls with my kids before, I recognize the "you need to hold my hand" pose....

I should be getting my new 16" tires on my Westy this weekend - I'll post a picture so you know who's waving.

*Everybody's* builds look bubba when compared to his. The dude should build nuclear power plants or carrier-class telco for a living.

Yeah It's really at the "I don't want to sell it price" right now, and probably will be for a long time. You could always make me a offer though :evil

Thanks for the comments guys, I form a idea in my mind and try my hardest to make it happen...It's been a fun project but there are others out there that make this project look sick....It's all relitive. :freaky

    Here's a link to a co-workers race car build....Awesome!

I was asked for a wiring diagram of my setup. I didn't write anything down when doing the wiring, I had the concept in my head and went with it. I threw this together pretty quick last night by freehand so it's not the best, but it does represent my current wiring. When I get time I'll make up a better diagram.

I'm still going to add a master breaker on the main starter line in case anything ever shorts to ground from the tie switch back, as it sits now if anything shorted I could throw both switches to off and kill all vehicle power...if I'm in the vehicle when it happened. I'll also be adding Solar in the future as well.

    The setup includes:
Yandina C100 Battery Combiner (The forced off for the Yandia is ran to a switch on the switch panel, this allows charging of only the aux batts on shore power)
    Genius 10A Onboard Charger
Blue Sea 50A Breaker/Dissconnect (Used to disconnect Aux bank from Aux Batts)
    Blue Sea Fuse Panel
Aux Batts (4 - UB12220 AGM 22AH Batts, 88AH Capacity Total). I would prefer a single AGM batt instead for reliability reasons...we'll see how the UB12220 batts hold up).
Car Battery (Duracel Group 48 AGM 70AH Batt)
Blue Sea Switch Panel (Allows individual control of each circuit seperatly)
    3 Way Battery Master Switch
50A Maxi Fuse Holder x2 (Used on each end of the Yandina in case the cross over wire ever shorts out.
Wire used is Tinned Marine Wire (Available on ebay here: http://www.ebay.com/sch/genuinedealz/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p3686)

Sy-Klone makes the best pre-filters I've been able to find, and they also make a lot of cabin air filtration stuff for mining and industrial equipment. Using their stuff on my motorhome.

Several Syncros at the VW Classic on Sunday. If I was a smart guy I would have taken some photos for you. Something really cool about these. Personally, I am trying to get a Type 2 Westy out of my neighbor's driveway for a bargain. It's been parked there since at least 2008.

Dude, sweet. The WTF part for me was when you showed yourself. You have more hair on your melon than I do, but, other than that, we could be twins. Same beard even.:huh Handsome devil.

My van: '85 Weekender, EJ22, and now with 16" wheels and Geolandars. Me being a glutton for punishment, the wheels are off a Pontiac and I redrilled them to the VW bolt pattern. Not especially gnarly, but at least now it can't be defeated by wet grass like with the old 14" commercial tires.
