We've been discussing this for a little while on a couple other forums. It looks similar to Steve Bisig's route from PNBA
    http://www.pnwadventures.com/forum/completed-trips/5842-washington-cascades-overland-tour-2007-a.html (among others I'm sure)

I've done Chelan to Oroville, with minimal slab. It's nice, indeed.

It would be incredible to have a lot more single track and Jeep track sections paralleling the route.

Checkout the actual documentary movie trailer. I think the movie is out any day now.

Is there going to be some kind of contact list for when/where this will be available? I would dearly like to do this route next year. But need to get the information so I can do some planning.

If you look closely, the fine print says no motorbikes and ground tents allowed for overnight camping, only Tacoma's with roof top tents.:lol3

Nice to see you here, Dale.

I haven't heard of any contact list. I am trying to keep an eye on the website, but it doesn't seem to be upgrading at all. I figure between ASV, BDSR, PNBA, NWOS, EXPO, and PNWDSR, I should hear about it when it happens. I'll get a hold of you one way or another.

Thanks for the comments! No more Taco :cry, but I can always go storming the rampants with the frisky '04 Outback, tent and awning mounted and everything! Can you imagine trying to stuff the Engel stove, cooking gear, PETT potty, etc. into the Subaru, and then trying to go anywhere with it? :rofl

Just rode the 1150rt in the drizzle over here....love it!

Maybe we can meet up next year near the Candahoovian border and do the WBCDR together?? Possibly break it into "do-able" weekenders? Or there's still Bellingham?

I'm planning a trip using a section of the wbcdr, north to south, from Twisp to Chelan, Ardenvoir, Cashmere. I built a gps route based exactly on the wbcdr web page map, but comparing it to your attached .gpx track file, there are some significant differences between the two. Any suggestion which one I should base my route on?

    Thanks! Dorian

Thanks for posting about the WBCDR, I was not aware of it. It's nice to have another route to add to my list.

I think I was the one who told you about the route. :wave We are having a fund-raiser for the Washington Back Country Discovery Route project on the 30th. It should be a fun evening. Sterling Noren of Globe Riders will be showing his film "Beyond The Border - Riding Solo in Mexico". Check out my post in PNW Vendors & Services.

They talk about a movie in the video, saying it will be out mid Sept. I can't find any more up to date info on the website, or anywhere for that matter.

Anyone know anything about the movie? It would be great winter time viewing.

Dale; we will ride together one way or another next season, maybe even a section of this route.:thumb

Per my discussion with Stirling, the movie will be out and available from Touratech within a month. The movie will want you to get out there and ride it.

My wife and I spent 4 days following a portion of the route. Here's my vid/slideshow of the experience. Can't wait to do it next year. Thanks to Touratech-usa and all others involved in getting this route organized!:freaky

MonkeyC- Nice job on the video. I love the ducks. Looks like you had a great time. The wife and I are planning to do the whole route next year and it's nice to see some of the actual route.

    Thanks guys.

I'll ride it at least once next year - easier to get to than the OBCDR!

'WOW - Basically easy terrain. There were some ruts that sneak up on ya. And a nice rocky incline roughly 10 miles after Hwy 410, but nothing my lady couldn't fly over - on her 2ND time off pavement:deal Suppose it would be muddier earlier in the summer.

Stinky - Ducks were found at Lake Chelan SP. We lucked out, popping out at Lake Chelan AFTER the last week of the summer crowds. It was quiet!

I'm thinking about coming up and doing this route next summer - what is the best time of year to ride it?

Thanks - looks like a great route!

    Dale,

I'm planning to do it next summer (late June, July or August). I'll probably be on my F650GS or . . .
