If you do it S to N I might well join you. I'm not sure the timing will work though as I think I need to head back up to Seattle Round May probably. And then work all summer. But I do intend to go to AK this year dang it!!!!

I've got a quickie canoe trip planned for ~25th of July. My brother is showing up sometime in July on his Harley Road King from MN. Let me know if you get a better idea of exactly when and I'll try to work it in. Dang, I'm retired, and don't seem to have any free time~

The Ellensburg-to-Cashmere route includes several mile of closed/gated road. No Bueno. There are two workarounds; both involve substantial pavement.
    I sent WBCDR an email.

EDIT: The email was kicked back because the address doesn't exist? I'll call them on Monday.

Got a reply from Touratech today. They must have better contacts with the Forest Circus than I do. I'd heard rumours...

"I called the National Forest office today when I saw your post on ADVrider... They told me that the repairs at the bottom of Mission Creek are completed and that after the snows melt, cars and motorcycles will be able to ride through there again safely and legally. I'll go check it out in the spring but I'll have to take their word for it at this point."

Since I live a couple miles away, I'll be on the road come spring!

Yes, I called the national forest office in Leavenworth on 11/3 who said they have jurisdiction over the Mission Creek area. They told me the proposed road repairs at Mission Creek are now completed. This is important because as 1911 points out it was closed, barricaded, and signed not to ride through. That said, it wasn't difficult even on a 1000cc or 1200cc motorcycle to get over the barricade using the side hill and ride the trail along side the road. BUT it wasn't legal and we couldn't put that section into the WABDR route, GPS tracks, the Butler Map, and the DVD film until repaired so we are glad the NF got the work done!!

You're doing it wrong. You're supposed to lose cell reception the very morning you take off. :huh
You gotta leave the phone OFF, dude, "for safety's sake"; You know, keeping the battery FULL for when you might really need it.
That's the excuse I use anyway .

Picture me with my hands over my ears yelling "I can't hear you...I can't hear you"

Now THAT's my kind of camping!!:1drink

    Uh Oh.
I just read your RR on your OREGON BDR ride, while researching it for a ride this Summer.
You're not going to jinx THIS trip are you?? :lol3

That ride'd been more fun if you had another ADV FF to be miserable with you!

Truely a MUST DO ride! Several of us FFs rode and joined the OBCDR (route3) with the WBDR as a finish one week prior to Bryces's. A true test of man and machine!

They are working on a video that documents the WABDR route and should be out middle of next month. It should be a nice video when it's all done and ready to go and the route is now available on the web site. The web site does have some cool pictures with the route.
